The columns are under 10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40 etc. I was careful as there are several Patman and Petman families as well as the more common Pitman/Pittman ones. I am pretty sure about the ones listed here as Putnams or Putmans. But there are a bunch I can’t figure.

Listing is 00001 00001. Laban and Elvira Jones were here in 1850 and will in 1860 and on till they die. He is son of Reuben Putnam from Bethel, Vermont. Reuben is number 1200 and Laban is number 2673 in Eben Putnam's book. Laban was born in Bethel, Windsor County, Vermont on November 5, 1808. He was Reuben's eldest child. Laban married Elvira Jones in Bethel, Vermont. Laban will die here in Palatine in November 1892.

Listing is 010001 12111. Samuel is a son of Samuel Porter Putnam (2131) and Betsy Bayley originally from Danvers, Mass. and then Vermont. He and his wife Lydia White Bailey were here in 1850 and Lydia is widowed here in 1860. New England family.

Listing is 0001 101. He and his wife Jane Workman were here in 1850 and will be through the 1880. He and Mary were just married here December 20, 1849. He is from the German Putman family of Somerset County Pennsylvania and then Van Wert County Ohio

Listing is 34101 1001. Reading’s son George and his wife Charlotte Crosswaite. They were here in 1850, Arkansas before that with his dad, and then here before that. Charlotte’s folks live a couple of houses away. Southern Putman family.

D. (DANIEL) PUTNAM Warren, Jo Daviess County
Listing is 000001 000. Daniel (number 1269 in Eben Putnam's book) is a son of Daniel (number 513) Putnam and Dorcas Bone. He was born March 22, 1800 in Grafton Township, Windsor County, Vermont. He was back in Otsego County New York in 1850. In 1860 his wife Lucinda and a couple of their kids will be here too.
H. F. PUTNAM Warren, Jo Daviess County
Listing is 0001 000. This could be Henry Putnam from Berkshire County Massachusetts. Don’t know, but two of his sons, William and Wollcott, are out here in 1860.

Listing is 101 1001. Ransom Putnam is here in 1850 and 1860, but no idea who this is. Might even be for the older woman in her 30s, but I doubt it.
R. (REUBEN) PUTNAM Momence, Kankakee County
Listing is 0001 1301. He and his wife Anna Sumner are here in 1860 and forever. He is a son of Jacob Putnam (1882) and Mary Burton. He was born in Andover, Windsor County Vermont July 29, 1811. He traveled to Chautaugua County New York and married Anna Sumner there August 26, 1840. He will be here in Illinois until his death in 1891.
R. (RUSSELL) PUTNAM Copley, Knox County
Listing is 1010001 0010001. Both in their 60s. This would be Russell Putnam and Abigail Blaisdell, and then their son Holden Putnam and wife Leonora Robinson. I don’t see them in 1860, but Holden and his family are in Stephenson County in 1860. The little boy here is their son Charles Flint.

A. C. (AZRO CARLETON) PUTNAM Township 34, LaSalle County
Listing is 2101 0101. He and his wife Mary Ann Ford are from New Hampshire and are here in 1850 and 1860. He is a physician and has been for a while. He is a son of John Adams Putnam from Hanover, New Hampshire. Mary will die in the early 1860s and he will then marry Harriet Glenn August 23, 1866 in Knoxville, Tennessee after serving as a doctor in the Union Army. They will then head to California where they will have a son John Melvin in 1871. He will die there in 1877 and Harriet in 1923. New Englanders.
ALFRED PUTNAM Township 33, LaSalle County
Listing is 001 012. He is a son of Alfred Putnam (#1726) and Sophia Dickman. He was born in Herkimer, New York June 13, 1828. He was single in Aurora, NY in 1850. His wife now is Jennie from Connecticut. They are here in 1860. He will be in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1870 with a new wife. New Englanders.

Listing is 201 011. Another son of John Adams Putnam and Sarah Heath from New Hampshire. His wife is Sophia Bliss. They were in Madison County Ohio in 1850 and are here in 1860 then off to Missouri.

Listing is 101 001. He is right next to Aaron. Aaron has a younger brother Edward and this is probably him. They are probably in the same house.

Listing is 031001 33001. His wife is Elizabeth Perkins. He is a son of Abel Putnam and Polly Whipple. He was born in Charlestown, Sullivan County, New Hampshire February 16, 1799. He was in Coos County, New Hampshire in 1830 and 1840 and Orange County, Vermont before that. In 1850, they were back in Orange County, Vermont. They are here in 1860, and will be in Ogle County, Illinois in the mid 1860s.

Listing is 111001 12101. He is a son of Victor Putman and Deborah Burns from Oneida County New York. They will be here in Lee County in 1860 and 1870. Sarah is widowed here with a couple of kids in 1880. Dutch folks from Montgomery County New York.

Listing is 3001 01101. He and Adeline Eliza Harvey are here in 1860. He is a son of Peter Putman of Orleans, Cattaraugus County. He was born there August 22, 1820 according to a family bible. He will be widowed, and he and his daughter Carrie will be in Chicago in 1870. Dutch Family.

Listing is 0010 0010. This is William and Rachel Scott. He is a son of John W. Putnam and Minerva Scott from Erie County Pennsylvania. They were in Clinton County Iowa in 1850, and are here in 1860. New England Family.

Listing is 120 101. She was married to Sylvester Putnam here in 1840 and was widowed with the kids in 1850. Sylvester was a son of Samuel Putnam and Relief Chaffee. They are all gone by 1860. New England Family.
Listing is 00000 0000011. The listing really looks like Wm. Not Mrs. This is Sophronia and Louisa Putnam. They were here in 1850 and are still in 1860 in their 60s. They are both daughters of Isaac Putnam (628) and Mary ‘Polly’ Chamberlain from Windsor County Vermont. The family came down to Ohio in the early 1800s and settled in Knox County Ohio. New Englanders.
Listing is 110001 23001. This should be Benjamin and Ellen Moore. They are in Champaign County by 1860. He is a son of Benjamin Putnam (1948) and Sarah Tenney. He was born June 20, 1819 in Lyndeborough, New Hampshire. They will be in Salem, Indiana in 1870.

Listing is 014 1110001. He is a son of John Wellington and Minerva Putnam who were here in 1850. His wife is Caroline Wheeler. The older woman is his widowed mother The whole family was here in 1850 and Minerva is still here with Steve in 1860. New England family.
Listing is 101 101. Should be William Barron Putnam’s son and wife Pauline who are here in 1860. If so she is only 15 now. In 1860 there is only 1 kid over 5. Pauline may be a second wife and the one here is someone else. Or, this is a different Henry all together.
Listing is 011101 202001. Nathan and Nancy Trull were in Erie County Pennsylvania in 1840 and 1850. They are here in 1860 and he will die in 1861. He is a son of Jonathan Putnam and Mary Hildreth of Lyndeborough, Hillsborough County New Hampshire. Several of the kids shown here are off on their own now in West Peoria in 1860. Listing is 1100 0201. She is Permelia Clementine Lovering the widow of Harrison Putnam. They were married in 1848 in Croydon, New Hampshire and have been here in Illinois since 1849. She is now 37 NH. Harrison died here March 13, 1861. Harrison is number 2790 in Eben's book. He was a son of Hiram Putnam and Rachel Barton from Croydon, New Hampshire.
Listing is not shown on the page it is supposed to be on. He is about 27 PA, Elizabeth Phillips his wife 25 PA and William 6 and Etta 3 also PA. He is a son of Edson Putnam and Elizabeth Knapp. He was with his brothers in Pine Grove, Warren County Pennsylvania in 1850, and was married with Elizabeth in Farmington, Warren County in 1860. His dad was from Windham County Vermont. They are here in 1870 and then will be back in Warren County, Pennsylvania by 1880. Their son William will be in Scott County Iowa by then.
MAUDE PUTNAM Hall, Bureau County
Listing is 100 201. Handwriting was kinda scribbled. This is actually Leurinda Dewey widow of Harvey Putnam. They were here in 1860 and he died in 1863. She will soon marry Alfred McKee and the whole gang will be here in 1870. The son here is Herbert and the daughters Lilly and Lavinia. Harvey was a son of Sewell Putnam and was born in Cobbleskill, New York November 25, 1818. New England family out of Vermont and then Massachusetts before that of course.
CHARLES S. (SEWELL) PUTNAM Selby, Bureau County
Listing is hard to read but this is how I can see it. 401?1 11?1. He is Charles Sewell Putnam the son of Sewell Putnam. He was born in Utica, Oneida County New York November 17, 1824. His wife is Mary Elizabeth Hugh also from New York. His dad, Sewell was born in Brattleboro, Vermont. Sewell's dad Asa was from Danvers, Mass. Sewell is number 1727 in Eben's books. Charles was here in 1860, and soon will head back in Utica, Oneida County in a couple of years and will be there in the 1880 census.
Listing is 10001 201. He is a son of Reding Putman (my great great grandfather) and Stacey Combs his first wife. He was born while the family was still in Kentucky and then went to Fulton County Illinois with them. He was with his Uncle Harrison Putman there in 1850. He is married to Elizabeth Drutz and they were in Morgan County Illinois in 1860. He is a physician. They will be in Jasper County Iowa soon and be there in 1870 and 1880. Robert died in Prairie City, Iowa May 30, 1892. Elizabeth is shown as a widow in the 1900 census of Jasper County, Iowa. In 1910, she and three daughters are in Spokane, Washington. Elizabeth died in Spokane, Washington September 22, 1913. Southern Putmans out of South Carolina.
JOHN PUTNAM Taylorville, Christian County
Listing is 120001 010001. He is 52, but his wife Flora Hawley is only 47 so that check is wrong. Anyway, He is Eben’s number 2251, a son of John Putnam (977) and Philena Curtis of Hinsdale, Massachusetts. He was born there April 21, 1813. He married Flora Hawley back in Hinsdale July 6, 1837. They were there in the 1840 and 1850 Census, and then here by the 1860. They will still be here in 1900, the kids even longer.

Reuben is number 1200 and Laban is number 2673 in Eben Putnam's book. Laban was born in Bethel, Windsor County Vermont on November 5, 1808. He was Reuben's eldest child. Laban married Elvira Jones back in Bethel, Vermont. Laban will die here in Palatine in November 1892.

The page is impossible to read. Henry Cornelius Putnam was here in 1860. Probably him. He married Mary Alice Sebree here on October 7, 1863. She will die in 1866, and he will move to Le Sueur County, Minnesota and die there January 9, 1869.

Listing is 21001 01001. He is a son of Peter Putman of Orleans, Cattaraugus County. He was born there August 22, 1820. Dutch Folks. His wife is Adeline Eliza Harvey. They were in Ogle County in 1860, and in Carroll County in 1850 and are here in 1870. By 1880 Eliza has died and he is married to Viletta Allen and they are here then. He owns a butcher shop.
JASON PUTNAM Texas DeWitt County
Listing is 11001 23001. He is a son of Jonas Putnam and Sally Ward of Chester, Vermont. He is married to his second wife Dorcas Smith Davis. He was in Scott County in 1850 and 1860. He married Dorcas in Scott County April 23, 1857. She was the widow of Benjamin Davis. In 1850, he was living with the Benjamin Davis family in Scott County. He married Lois H. Drummands there October 26, 1851. Looks like she and Ben died, as he married Dorcas there on April 23, 1857. They are here in 1870 and then off to Missouri where he will die in 1882.

Listing is 00011 2201. He is from the German Putman family of Somerset County, Pennsylvania and then Ohio. He is a son of Michael Putman and his first wife Esther Landis. He was born in Somerset County and moved with his folks to Van Wert County, Ohio. He married Mary Jane Workman back in Ohio on December 20, 1849. They will be here through the 1880.
ALFRED PUTMAN Buckheart, Fulton County
Listing is 1001 101. He is a son of George Combs Putman and Charlotte Crosthwait from here. He was born on August 19, 1835 in Illinois. He married Emily Ashworth August 7, 1856. He remained in Canton, Fulton County where he died March 31, 1905. Emily was born February 22, 1839 in Baltimore and died December 14, 1893 in Canton. They were in McDonough County in 1860, and then back in Fulton County. All three of these families in Buckheart live together or at least on the same property.
BENNETT PUTMAN Buckheart,
Fulton County
Listing is 1001 2001. This is a surprise. He is a son of Reding Putman and Stacey Combs. He is from here but has been in Jasper County, Iowa. His first wife Susan Effner died there in 1856 and he married Martha Ann Burckhalter in Jasper County, Iowa on September 29, 1857. I had no idea he was back here in Illinois until I saw this entry. I thought he was in Arkansas. He will be in Arkansas by 1867 and open a store in Springdale Arkansas. He will be there for a while and then move to Kansas by 1880. Bennett died in 1888 and Martha in 1889. They are buried in the Iuka Township Cemetery, Pratt County Kansas.
JAMES PUTMAN Buckheart, Fulton County
Listing is 101 001. James Harvey Putman is a son of George Putman and Charlotte Crosswaite from here. His wife is Eliza Van Buren (a widow Elizabeth Van Buren McBroon). Interesting Elizabeth had been married to Hewitt McBroom. He died and she married James here on August 1, 1861. They got divorced in 1869. Then I guess they said “Oh heck,” and got remarried February 17, 1870. They are here through 1880, then he seems to have remarried as in 1900 he is in Latah County, Idaho with a wife named Ruba E. born in Canada. His brother Benjamin and sister Maria were in Latah County then too. Ruba died near Moscow in 1911 and is buried there. He then married a Margaret and moved over the border to Garfield Washington and died there April 9, 1914. Southern Putman Family.
HAZEAL PUTMAN Harris, Fulton County
Listing is 11010000001 1001. He is a son of William Putman and Alla Bridges from here. He was born on October 21, 1826. He remained in Fulton County, Illinois after the rest of the family went to Arkansas. He lived in Buckheart Township on his folks’ original farm. He married Lydia Ann Miller, daughter of John and Elizabeth Miller of Virginia. They were here in the 1850 and 1860 census. In 1870 the family will be in Washington, Tazewell County Illinois. In 1880 they are in Cedar Rapids, Linn County Iowa. They guy way out in the 100+ column is John Miller who is actually only around 88 or so. Southern Putmans.
Listing is 1001 001. He is Joseph Grover Putman, the youngest son of Daniel Kendrick Putman. He was single here in 1860 and then married Christina Boardener later that year. They will be here till 1881 and then off to Texas they go. This is the family of the Reverend William Munden Putman from Houston who has done a great deal of research on the Southern Putmans.
Listing is 0220001 11001. George is 50 and not in his 60s. Mark in wrong column. His wife Charlotte Crosthwaite is about 49. He is a son of Reding Putman Senior and Stacey Combs. He was born in Gibson County, Indiana on October 3, 1814 and came to Fulton County, Illinois in 1823. He married Charlotte Crosthwait in Fiatt, Illinois on December 18, 1834. Charlotte was born in Illinois and was the daughter of Harvey and Mary Crosthwait. They are here the rest of their lives. Southern Putmans.
Listing is 104001 120001. He is about 53 and his wife Malinda Fouts 51. He is a son of Hazeal Putman and Isabelle Combs. He was born on December 3, 1811 shortly after the family arrived in Indiana. He was eleven when he came to Fulton County, Illinois. Harrison was named after William Henry Harrison. His father Hazeal had fought under that Harrison a month earlier in the War of 1812. On November 15, 1832 he married Malinda Fouts in Fulton County Malinda was the daughter of David and Mary Fouts (Pfautz as originally spelled) and was born in North Carolina on July 27, 1814. Harrison will spend the rest of his life as a farmer in Fulton County, living in Canton during the last portion of his life. Malinda died in Canton on April 2, 1890 and Harrison died June 17, 1891. Listing is 0010001 010001. Dan is 65 and Lucinda 61. The younger couple is his son William and his wife Melvina Lynde. Daniel (number 1269 in Eben Putnam's book) is a son of Daniel (number 513) Putnam and Dorcas Bone. He was born March 22, 1800 in Grafton Township, Windsor County, Vermont. Lucinda is his second wife. His first wife was Sally also from Grafton, Vermont. He moved to Delaware County, New York in the 1840s and was in Hartwick, Otsego County, New York in the 1850 census. They moved here in the 1850s. Daniel is widowed here by 1870 and William and Melvina will be here with a couple of daughters.
Listing is 00303 0001. He is Wollcott De Forest Putnam, a son of Henry Putnam (number 2225) and his second wife Eliza Goodrich of Hinsdale, Berkshire County Massachusetts. He was shown at home there in 1850 and was here in 1860 with his brother William. Wollcott will marry Mrs. Lizzie Clark. There will be no children. He will be in Chicago in the 1870. So, I don’t know to who all the kids belong. Might be some from his brother William.
Listing is 001001 00101. He is a son of Israel Putnam (1773) and Hannah Andrews from Hillsborough County New Hampshire. He was born there May 4, 1805. He has a new wife Nancy Downer from Canada. They were married here June 18, 1863. He was first married to Lucretia Jones and was in Claremont, New Hampshire in 1840 and West Troy, New York in 1850. They were here in 1860. Lucretia died here July 18, 1859. He will die August 15, 1872 and Nancy will be widowed here in 1880.
Listing is 0101 0001. He is a son of Reuben Putnam and Eleanor Abbott from Bethel, Windsor County Vermont. He was born in Bethel on March 2, 1831, and married Mary Ann Stanford here December 15, 1859. They were here in 1860 and will be in Wabasha County Minnesota in 1870, and in Smith County Kansas by 1880. New Englanders
Listing is 212001 010101. He is the son of John Putnam (1484) and Anna Wheeler of Grafton, Worcester County Massachusetts. His wife is Eunice Knowlton. They were married in Grafton on April 26, 1831. In 1850, they were in Louisville, Jefferson County Kentucky and they were right here in 1860.
Listing is 1100001 01001. This is “old Put” who was a horse and cow thief and was tarred and feathered and run out of Will County Illinois in the 1850s. He married Minerva Wilson here July 25, 1857. He is about 61 NY now. They’ll be here in 1870.

He was born in Bethel, Windsor County, Vermont on November 15, 1813. His folks were Daniel Putnam (1202) and Permelia French. The senior Dan was born in Sutton, Massachusetts in 1782 and went to Vermont with his parents in 1787. He was a Captain during the War of 1812. Dan Junior came out here in the later 1840s and will be here till he dies in the 1880s.

Proctor is number 2786 in Eben Putnam's book. His wife is Rosella Sargent. They have been here since the 1840s but will be next door in Waukegan by 1870 and there in 1880.

Edward will be in Topeka, Kansas in the 1870 census with his new wife Lilla Moore. They were married here October 6, 1863. He will be in Sparta, Monroe County, Wisconsin with a new wife, Nancy Goddard in the 1880, and in Shelby County, Illinois in 1900

John's parents were Aaron Putnam and Sarah Colburn of Sutton, Massachusetts and Hanover, New Hampshire. Azro’s wife was Mary Ann Ford who died in the early 1860s. He served as a physician in the Union Army in the Civil War and will marry Harriet Glenn August 23, 1866 in Knoxville, Tennessee. They will then head to California where he will die in 1877 and Harriet in 1923.

Listing is 11001 42001. This is Stephen Carlos Putnam about 49 and Lavinia Tenney about 42 both from Hanover, New Hampshire. He is a son of John Adams Putnam and Sarah Heath from Hanover. They came down into Ohio and then Indiana where they were until about 1857. They are here in 1870 and then will go to Coryell County Texas and die there in 1879. The rest of the family will be in Hamilton County, Texas in 1880 through 1900.
Listing is 011 000. George and his younger brother Richard are boarding here in Edwardsville. They are sons of George Washington Putnam from here. Their mom died back in the late 1840s and their dad just died here last year in 1864. They are here in 1870 and then both off to Montgomery County with other brothers for the 1880 census. Richard is there in 1900 too. New England family out of Marietta, Ohio then back to Massachusetts.

Listing is 0001 1201. Writing looks like M. H. or N. H. Putnam. I think this is the Maggie Hurd Putnam who is in Flagg Township with a 5 year old daughter in 1870. No idea who her husband might be though.
Listing is 001001 001. He was single here in 1860, and then he and his wife Lucy Barnes were just married here on January 23. The older woman is his widowed mother Elizabeth. In 1850, Jay was at home with his mom, who was even then a widow, in Canajoharie, Montgomery County. In 1840, there were no Putmans in Canajoharie, but it abuts Root, and there were a zillion there. This is, of course, a Dutch family, and those folks used the Dad’s name as a middle name. The L very easily stands for Lewis or Lodowyck (same name different languages). Lewis Victor in Root, is the right age. I would guess that Jay is a son of Lewis Junior. But just a guess. They are all here in 1870. Lucy is widowed here in 1880, and from 1900 on she and her son Jay Edward (to be born in 1867) will be in Rockford, Winnebago County.
Listing is 0001 201. He and Sarah Trane were here in 1860 and will be through the 1920. Chauncy married Sarah April 22, 1858. On the marriage record his name is A. C. Putman. In 1850 there was a Frederick Putman in McHenry County with a son Abram age 16 NY. These two Counties are next to each other and I think this is to whom Chauncy belongs. The son listed as Abram never appears again under that name, and the name Chauncy never appears earlier than the 1860. Gotta be him. Dutch Folks.
Listing is 2000001 2010. His age should be 31. This should be David Augustus Putnam and his wife Jane. They were in Lee County in 1860 near his folks George Putnam and Elizabeth Perkins. They must be getting divorced or something as in 1870 he is back home with his folks here in Ogle County and Jane and the kids are off somewhere else.

He was born in Charlestown, Sullivan County New Hampshire February 16, 1799. He was in Coos County New Hampshire in 1830 and 1840 and Orange County Vermont before that. In 1850, they were back in Orange County Vermont. They came here to Ogle County in the early 1860s.
Listing is 001001 0210. Looks like his wife Mary has died since the 1860. He is from New York and the family was in Ohio in the 1830s and 1840s. No idea who is folks were though. He will be gone or die by 1870. His son Allen is still here though.
Listing is 100101 01111. He is indexed J. N. Patnam. James and Caroline were here in 1860 and will be in 1870 and then she is widowed here by 1880. He was single in Butler County Ohio in 1850 and met Caroline there and they were married about 1852. He is from Massachusetts. He looks like James Alfred Putnam a son of George Small Putnam (1750) and Mary Carter from Townsend, Massachusetts. His dad died there in the 1830s and he was with his mom in 1840. Then his mom moved with her then married daughter Rachel, and Jim headed to Ohio. He will die here in 1874.

Listing is 0001 001. He is Parker Trull Putnam a son of Nathan Putnam and Nancy Trull. His wife is Laura Angella Austin. They were married in Winnebago County October 2, 1860. Parker was home with his folks in Erie County Pennsylvania in 1850. He’s been here since the mid 1850s. He is a stock dealer. They will be here in 1870 and 1880. He will die and Laura is widowed in Los Angeles in 1900 and is with their son Frank in Hennepin County, Minnesota in 1910. New England Family originally. Actually from England ‘originally.’

Listing is 12001 02001. He is a son of Jeremiah Putnam and Hannah Roe of Fairfield County Connecticut and then Delaware County New York. He married Frances Browner here in Illinois on November 24, 1847. They were in Tazwell County in 1850 and here in 1860 and will be in 1870.
SAM PUTNAM Pawnee, Sangamon County
Listing is 1211 021. He lives next to or with his brother Jonathan. He is a son of Jeremiah Putnam and Hannah Roe. He was born in Harpersfield, Delaware County, New York in July 1838, He was with his father in Sandford, Broome County, New York in 1860. He headed out here and married Margaret Anna Browner here January 31, 1864 (October 19, 1863 in another source). He’ll be here in 1880 and 1900. Jeremiah’s folks were Aaron Putnam and Olive Osborne of Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut and Danvers, Massachusetts before that.

Listing is 22001 2200. He is a son of Cornelius Victor Putman and Gertrude Van Horne from Montgomery County New York. They have been here since the late 1830s. He is married to Martha A. Elkins. They are here in 1870 and 1880. He will head to Los Angeles in the 1890s and be there in the 1900 census with his daughter Asenath Barnhardt. He will die there May 28, 1901. Dutch Family from New York State.
THOMAS PUTMAN Ross, Vermilion County
Listing is 001001 020001. The eldest of Thomas Putman and Nancy Grover's sons from Mason County Kentucky and then Champaign County Ohio where they were in 1850. His wife is Elizabeth Weaver. They were here in 1860. They will soon move to Carroll County Missouri. Thomas will die there in 1866, and in 1870 Elizabeth and the kids will be in Carroll County and she will still be in 1880 and then die there in 1885. Southern Putman family out of Virginia.

Listing is 0110X 01001. The last guy looks like it was crossed out, but not sure. Sure looks like Elizabeth Baird Chesterfield Putnam’s wife. They are here though in 1870 and will be till they die, he in 1888 and she in 1897. I think the X guy is indeed Chester and the kids fit too. Maybe he was out of town or something and the put Elizabeth in charge. Gotta be them though.

THOMAS J. PUTNAM Grant, Vermillion County
Listing is 32001 23001. He is a son of Reuben Putnam jr. and was born in New York, and his father Reuben was a son of Cornelius Putnam and Elizabeth Perkins from Sutton, Massachusetts prior to going into Vermont and then New York. Then they went into Ohio then Fountain County Indiana. His father Reuben is still back in Fountain County. Tom’s wife is Mary Cedars also out of Ohio. They were here in 1860 and the 8 oldest kids were all born back in Fountain County Indiana. They are here in 1870 and 1880. New Englanders of course.
JOHN PUTNAM Ross, Vermilion County
Listing is 001 101. He is a son of Thomas Putnam and Elizabeth Weaver from here. He was single at home in 1860 and has now married Sarah Mossick. The daughter here is Florence. Sarah and Florence will be with her mother in 1870 and no John. In 1880 Florence is still with her grandmother and her mom has gone by then too. John went to Missouri, possibly with Sarah, and died there in 1879 or 1880.
JOSEPH PUTNAM Ross, Vermilion County
Listing is 11001 3001. He is about 45 and his wife Elizabeth Slusser about 37. He is a son of Thomas Putman and Nancy Grover from Kentucky and then Champaign County and Clark County Ohio and then here. They are here through the 1880 and till they die. He built a store and then added a second floor and then ultimately made it a hotel that was run by his daughter Martha. He died on July 30, 1892. Elizabeth was alive at age 72 in the 1900 census, and also here in 1910. She died on August 31, 1914.
Listing is 01110 1130001. He is a son of William Garrison Putman and Maria Gardiner from Montgomery County New York. Dutch family. He was born there November 22, 1831 and married Esther D. Rice here in Lyndon on September 22, 1862. They are here in 1870 and 1880 and then are in Dallas County Texas in the 1900. The listing says ‘& Rice.’ I assume the gal way out there in her 60s is Esther’s mommy.
LORENZO PUTNAM Wesley, Will County
Listing is 01001 11001. He looks to be Lorenzo who is in Iroquois County in 1870. He’s Dutch. In 1850 he and Olive were in Johnstown, Fulton County living near his folks Lodowyck Putman and Sarah Miller. He is now 45 NY, Olive Northrup his wife 45 NY, Nancy 17 NY, Lewis (the American version of Lodowyck) 11 NY and Sarah 5 NY. They are in Iroquois County in 1870 and 1880 and he will die there in 1889. The son Louis will be there in 1900.
Listing is 0001 0001. He and his wife Lucy McCord were here in 1860. Charles is possibly a son of John (Johannes) Garret Putman and Rebecca Wells from Montgomery County, New York. Not at all certain here though. John died here in Wilmington a few years back. Dutch folks if he is.

Listing is 010001 02001. He is a son of Uzziel Putnam Junior originally from Windham County, Vermont. Benjamin Franklin was born in Jefferson County, New York. He moved with his family to Cass County, Michigan in the 1830s and married Alma Altha Johnson there in 1835. They were in Cass County in 1850, and I don’t find them listed anywhere in 1860, but they are here now and will be in 1870. He is now just 60 and Alma 53. New Englanders.

Listing is 1001 101. Marvin Morris Putnam is a son of John Wellington Putnam and Minerva Scott from here. He was with the family in Laona in 1850. His dad died there February 22, 1852. I don’t find him in 1860, but his mom is around somewhere, as she won’t die here until May 20, 1867. She was with her son Stephen Carlos Putnam in 1860. Marvin married Ann Genette ‘Hettie’ Wheeler in 1862, and will die here March 25, 1866. But I do find the two kids Frank 5 and Eva 7 living with their mother Hettie who is married to Seymour Barker in Laona, Winnebago County in the 1870. They are in Minnesota by 1880 and there all their lives.
Listing is impossible to see or read. Anyway it is Goyne McCoy Putnam and Lavinia Babcock and their family. They have been here since the mid 1840s and were in Canada before that in 1840. He is a son of John Wellington Putnam and Minerva Scott from Genesee County New York. He was born in North East Township, Erie County Pennsylvania. In the 1820s his folks moved back to New York where they were from and were in Batavia, Genesee County New York in 1830. The family then went across the Lake, and in 1840 were in Ontario Canada. Then they came here. Goyne and Lavinia will be just across the state line in Avon, Rock County Wisconsin in the 1870 and 1880 census.
HENRY PUTNAM Laona, Winnebago County

Both he and Martha are in their 60s now. They have been here since the 1840s.
He is a son of Abijah Putnam who was a son of Tarrant
Putnam (342). Family was from New England then went to New York, up into Canada
where Henry and Martha were married and then down here. Martha will die here on January 6, 1873 and Henry on March 20, 1880.

Listing is 2001 001. Think this is Henry Brown and Pauline. They were here in 1860. He is a son of William Barron Putnam from Vermont. That Henry was with his folks in Sauk County Wisconsin in 1850 and will be near them in Chippewa County Wisconsin in 1870. At that time he will have a new wife with some kids and will still have Emma who is listed here with him. His second wife will be Samantha. They were married down here and had a couple more kids plus the ones from her first marriage, which are too old to be included here. Think they got married here around 1867.
