He is a son of Dexter Evander Putnam and Lucinda Brewer from Putnam County Missouri where he was born. Dexter was a son of Dexter Erastus Putnam and Ruby Titus from Sutton Massachusetts. Both Wilbur and his folks were in Putnam County in 1900. By 1910 Wilbur, Bridie and the kids are in Sugar City Colorado and will be there through 1920 Up there he is a building contractor. The dad Dexter is here in Franklin County Kansas in 1910. He is widowed and living with his married daughter Frances Belle Leaper. New England family of course.
He is 58 VT and his wife Dorothy is 63 NY. He is a son of Leander Putnam and Martha Emorette Pike, who was here since 1860. Leander was a son of Jacob Putnam and Polly Worth and is number 1124 in Eben Putnam's books. He was born in Middlesex, Vermont. His first wife was Cynthia Stone who died in 1844. He married Martha back in Vermont in 1845. He moved here in 1856 after going to Wisconsin for two years. They are here in 1910.
She is 70 NY and lives alone. She has been here since the 1860s but has been living here with her daughter Helen and husband Ben Hudson. Helen Barker is the second wife and widow of Lyman Putnam. Lyman was a son of Cornelius Putnam and Bridget Nevins from Hanover, NH. She and young Helen were here in 1885 and she was married to Ben in 1895.
He is 32 NE. His wife Lizzie is 30 IA. They have Frances 10 KS, John 7 KS and Charles 5 KS. I don’t find them before or after this. Probably not Putmans.
He is 38 NY (really CAN) and his wife May (Josephine after this, same gal) is 29 KS. He is a merchant. He was here with his mother Elizabeth Ann Dunn Putman in 1900. His dad George Young Putman was from St. Catherine’s, Lincoln County Ontario. They were all there in the 1881 Canadian Census. His mom was widowed here in 1895 and 1900. They are here in 1910 and 1920 and she is widowed in 1930. Dutch family from Ontario Canada and New York State before that.
He is a mason 55 IL, his wife Everetta (Eva) Bridges is 47 IL. They have Clarence Israel 21 NE, Albert Edward13 NE and Ira Reed 6 KS. He is a son of Victor C. Putman and Adeline Eliza Hardy from New York. He has been here since 1900 and was in Nebraska before that. He was born March 1, 1850 in Ogle County, Illinois and was with the family there in 1860. His dad was a son of Peter Putman of Orleans, Cattaraugus County. He married Eva November 22, 1876 in DeKalb County Illinois. Dutch family from New York.
He is 25 KS, his wife Flora Gilmore is 23 IN and they have Jeneva 1 KS. He is a son of William Putman and Ida Kenyon from here in Barton County. He was home here in 1900 and married Flora about 1903.They are here in 1905 and 1910 and Flora is all by herself with the kids in 1915. She will be married to Frank Williams and be in Reno County by 1920. Emmett will be married and in Kansas City, Missouri in 1920.
He is 23 KS and his wife Irene is 18 KS. They have Claudie, a son, 1 KS. He is a son of William Putman and Ida Kenyon from Barton County. He was home here in 1900. I don’t find any of these people in 1910. But if you look at the 1910 in Topeka you will see a Nellie Putnam with a son Earl age 4 and they are with her dad David Clark. I can’t find Ernest in 1910 and he is alone in Topeka in 1920. Then by 1923 he is married to Opal E. Schenrer and they are in Dickinson County Iowa in 1925 and back in Finney County Kansas in 1930. His widowed mother Ida Kenyon Putnam is there then too as is Earl from his second marriage. This is a tricky one to follow.
He is 21 KS and his wife Nellie is 18 MO. Also here is his widowed mother Ida 50 NY and the rest of her kids, Otto 14 KS, Nettie 12 KS, Ruth 9 KS and Rena 5 KS. He is a son of William Putnam and Ida Kenyon. They were all here in 1900 and back to the 1880. I don’t find them in 1910, but he is in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1920 with a second wife Anna from Wisconsin and a daughter Grace. In 1930 is back here in Finney County near his mother and married sister. He has Grace then but with yet another wife Nina Cauvel from Pennsylvania.
He is a farmer 22 MO, his wife A. (Amy B. Morris) 23 IL, and a son E. (Ernest) 2 KS. He is a son of Jacob Putnam and Celestina Lawton from Vernon County, Missouri. His folks are here too. They were here in 1900 and will be in 1910.
He is 51 TN and his wife Tina (Celestina Lawton) 42 IL. They have Harry 18 KS, Alice 16 KS, Boyd 15 KS, Grace 13 KS, Iva 11 KS, Dollie 9 KS and Gladys 5 KS. He is a son of William and Sarah Foland Putnam from Jefferson County, Tennessee. They were in Vernon County, Missouri before coming to Kansas in 1885. The family will be in Fort Scott, Bourbon County through the 1930 census. This is the Southern family that was just late comers as best I can figure. I can only get them back to Virginia in the 1700s a hundred years after my Thomas Putnam came there.
He is 35 IL. His wife Georgia Britton is 30 KS and they have Gladys 11 IL. He was born in Wabash County, Illinois a son of Alfred D. Putnam and Rebecca McLane. They were here in Butler County, Kansas in 1900, and in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1910 and back here in 1915 and in Wichita by 1920. They live 2 houses away from John Russell Putnam, but they are not closely related at all.
He is 57 NY and his wife Genella Lord is 57 NY too. He is a son of Samuel Putnam (2347) and Eliza Ann Hazard of Madison, Madison County, New York. Samuel was a son of Dr. Elijah Putnam of Madison. They were there in 1880. They will be in Arkansas in 1920 and John will be back widowed in 1930 and living with his son Darwin.
He is 23 NY and his wife Nellie G. 23 OH. He is a son of John Russell Putnam and Genella Lord of Madison County, New York. Young Sam was born back there, but came here with his folks in the mid 1880s. They are here through 1930 at least. His folks are listed just above. New England family.
He is 25 MO and his wife Bertha is 22 KS. They have a daughter Jessie 2 KS and son George 6/12 KS. He is a son of David Putnam and Sarah Margaret Hensley from Crowley County. They are here in 1910 and will be back in Cowley County by 1920 and be there in 1930 too. David is a son of Ansel Delos Putnam and was in Mercer County, Missouri in 1880. David and Sarah were married in Cainsville Harrison County Missouri in 1878. They were here in 1895. New York Dutch family.

Putman and Elizabeth Moran and a grandson of Elijah from Davis County, Iowa. They were there in 1880, here in 1900 and will be in Jasper County Missouri in 1910 and 1920. Southern Putman Family.
She is 45 TN and has E. 17 IND TER, L. (Laura) 12 IND TER, C. 8 IND TER, Geo 7 IND TER and A. 5 IND TER. In 1910 she is married to John W. Code but only has Laura and a son Hazeal with her.
He is 34 IL and his wife Amanda Jane Parker is 39 IL. They have Mollie (Harriet) 18 KS, Josie 17 KS, Gracie 15 KS and Nettie 11 KS. He is a son of Thomas Ambrose Putman and Mary Bond from Brown County Illinois. They were there in 1880 and then he and Amanda were with his folks here in Marshall County in 1885. His dad died there July 1, 1894. Joseph was born in January 1860. His wife is Amanda Jane Parker born in Illinois in September 1865. They were married in Brown County November 23, 1880. In 1900 they were in Glenwood Township of Gage County, Nebraska. They are in Dodge County, Nebraska in 1910, and in Garden County, Nebraska in 1920. Southern Putman family.
MAY PUTNAM Lebo Township, Coffey County
She is 17 MO living with M. B. and Elizabeth (26 MO) Brown. I would guess they are sisters, but I can’t find earlier.
MARY E. PUTNAM Arkansas City, Cowley County
She is 48 TN and has Florence 19 KS and Maggie 24 KS still at home. They were here in 1895, 1900 and 1905, and she was widowed then. They were not here in any 1880 census, so I don't know whom she married except he was from Indiana. She is here through 1920.
He is 21 KS. Also there is Irena Jenkins 64 KY. He is one of the mystery kids that showed up here in 1895 with his mother Mary E. Putnam. He will be back with her in 1910
D. T. (DAVID THOMAS) PUTMAN Harvey Township, Cowley County
He is 47 MN and his wife Sarah Margaret Hensley is 47 IN. At home are Clarence 26 MO, Fred 21 SD, Esther 18 SD, Elva 16 SD, Verna 10 KS. Also here are Leslie McConnell 14 SD and his sister Tressie McConnell 16 SD who must belong to one of his married sisters. He is a son of Ansel Delos Putnam and was in Mercer County, Missouri in 1880. David and Sarah were married in Cainsville Harrison County Missouri in 1878. They were here in 1895. David is widowed here in 1910 and has a new wife Laura by 1920. New York Dutch family.
He is 26 IN, his wife Lizzie B. is 21 KS and they have Elizabeth 3/12 KS. He is a printer. I can’t even find him in Indiana in 1880, wonder if that is where he is from. Haven’t seen him before or since.
He is a traveling salesman. 35 IL. His son Fred is 19 KS. Also here is H. M. Weaver 60 IN who is probably his wife Harriet Jennie’s mom. Both were from Indiana. She isn’t here now but was in 1900 and will be in 1910. He is the son of John W. Putnam and Mary Alice Fisher. They were in Tazewell County, Illinois in 1880. The father John was born in Indiana, and the family came out of Kentucky originally. Southern Putmans.
He is 7 KS and his sister 2 KS. They are kids of James Putman and Myrtle Hicks. Their mom died and they are living with their grandparents H. F. and Mollie Hicks. Their dad is listed next.
He is 37 OH and is a farmer that came over from Missouri. He is a son of John S. Putman and Clarissa Duey from Ross County, Ohio. He was born there September 12, 1838. He was here with his mother in 1895. He was married here in Richland Township in 1900. He will still be widowed in Elbert County, Colorado in 1910 and in 1920. He had a son Clarence born in 1898 and daughter Leona born in 1902 who are staying with his wfe’s family and listed above now. They will be back with him in Colorado in 1910. James will die in Salida Colorado August 15, 1954. This is a German family from Maryland.
He is 41 NY. His wife Emma is 29 IL and they have Clara 9 AR. Don’t think they are related, but sticking the entry in just in case. Don’t find them in Arkansas or here in 1900.
He is 64 IN, and his wife Sarah Lancaster is 61 OH, and Dell (Delmar) their son is 25 KS. Charles operates a hotel, Dell is a piano tuner. He is a son of Newton Putnam from Massachusetts. He has been here since 1871 and listed from 1880 on. Newton was a son of Ezra and Sally Putnam, born in Danvers, Massachusetts, then moved to Cavendish, Windsor County, Vermont. Then Newton moved to Indiana where Charles was born. They are here in 1910 but not in 1920.
He is 21 MO and boarding. He is a barber.
He is 47 NY and his wife Lillian is 39 NY. He is a merchant and they came here from Missouri. Can’t find them before or later.
He is a farmer 30 MA, Helen 30 KS, Helen F. 3 KS, H. T. (Harry) 3/12 KS. He is a son of Harrison Kimball Putnam and Henrietta Crippen from here. He was born when the family was back in Worcester Massachusetts. Harrison was a son of Jasper Wheeler Putnam (#3105) and Mary Kimball, and was born in Grafton, Massachusetts March 22, 1830. They had been in Xenia, Ohio in the 1850s and 1860s, returned to Worcester, Mass for a spell and then came out here about 1878. They are here in 1910 and then in Saline County in 1920 and 1930.
He is a farmer 45 KS, and his wife Ida McGee 46 IL. They have Webster 22 KS, George 17 KS, Ralph 9 KS, Mark 7 KS and Arlo 3 KS. He is a son of Leander Putnam and Martha Emorette Pike of Vermont. He is 19 CA and lives with Herbert and Emma Baldwin. He was here with them as a nephew in 1895 and 1900. I don’t find him in 1910, but he is married in Sonoma County California in 1920 and in San Diego in 1930. His dad was born in Massachusetts and his mother in Ohio. Herbert was born in Ohio so his sister must have been Luther’s mom. No ideas as to the dad.
Martha is now 79 VT. At home is her daughter Hattie E. 48 WI. Also her son Charles E. 45 KS and his wife Ida McGee 45 IL, her son Webster M. 21 KS and his wife Ida B. 19 KS. Then there are George E. 17 KS, Ralph E. 9 KS, Mark L. 6 KS and Clifford O. 3 KS who are all kids of Charles and Ida. She is Martha Emorette Pike, the widow of Leander Putnam from Anderson County. Leander was a son of Jacob Putnam and Polly Worth and is number 1124 in Eben Putnam's books. He was born in Middlesex, Vermont. His first wife was Cynthia Stone who died in 1844. He married Martha back in Vermont in 1845. He moved here in 1856 after going to Wisconsin for two years. Martha is here in 1910 at age 85 and Hattie is still with her.
GEORGE PUTNAM Junction City, Geary County
He is still widowed and is 60 (65) NY. At ome is his daughter Ida 28 KS and then his other daughter Pearl 26 KS and Glen 1 KS. Pearl wasn’t here in 1900 and was probably married then. Glen would be hers but both should have a different last name. He was in Davis County in 1870 and 1880 and here in 1900. I think he is the son of Lansing B. and Sarah Putman from Livingston County New York. That George was home there in 1850 at age 1. This is a New York Dutch family. He is here in 1910.
He is 56 NY and his wife Lydia E. Teague is 53 ENG. He is a son of Jacob D. Putman and Hannah Lewis from Cayuga County New York. He was in Fayette County, Iowa in 1870, Graham County, Kansas in 1880 and Elk County, Kansas in 1900. They are here through 1930 when he is 81 and she is 75. Dutch family out of Montgomery County New York originally. Well, actually Holland originally.
He is a son of the above Charles Putman and Lydia Teague. He is 33 IA (says KS but isn’t right), his wife Lucy E. Little is 31 KS. They now have Charley 6 KS, Paul 4 KS. Also here is Dan Place 19 KS.
He is 32 KS and his wife Elnora is 30 KS. He is a son of William Putnam and Ida Kenyon from Harvey County and then Barton County. They were married in Topeka in 1900. I don’t find either in 1910.
He is 55 IA. His wife F. J. (Frances Jane Beecham) is 50 IL. They have Ella 20 KS, Winifred 18 KS, James Allison 13 KS, Vernon L. 10 KS and a daughter Charlotte I. Who is listed as a son S. I. 2 KS. Allison James Putman is a son of Jacob from New York. In 1850-60 they were in Scott County Iowa in 1870 in Benton County Iowa, and here from 1880 on. He is widowed here in 1920. I am pretty sure this is a New York Dutch family, but just can’t pin the dad Jacob down yet.
He is 28 KS and his wife Lola 28 KS. He is a son of Allison Putman from here. He was at home in 1880 and is living by himself here in 1910. Don’t know what happened to Lola.
He is 40 ME. His wife Lillie F. is 37 PA and they have L. (Lillian) G. 16 PA who is a stepdaughter from Lillie’s first marriage with a guy name Putz. Then they have E. (Edith) E. 2 KS and J. (John) W. 1 month KS. George is a son of George A. and Fanny Putnam of Yarmouth, Cumberland County, Maine. His dad was a minister originally from Massachusetts. George is a Teacher. They were here in 1900 and will be in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois in 1910 and 1920.
He is 20 IL (KS and it’s correct in 1920 and 1930) and boarding with S. F. and Anna Mead. He is John Howard Putnam and has been with his widowed mother Mary E. Putnam in Cowley County from 1895 up until now. By 1910 he will be here married to Regina Evans. They are in Los Angeles California in 1920 and 1930. Since I can’t find the family in 1880 I have no idea who his dad was except he was from Illinois.
He is 73 OH and his wife Mary Ann Hobbs is 69 PA. He is a son of Gabriel Putman and Susannah Weimer from Stark County Ohio and Pennsylvania before that. They have been in Stark County up till the 1880s, and then were here in Kingman County Kansas in 1895 through 1905. They are in Sedgwick County in 1910 and Mary Ann is widowed there in 1920. This is the German Putman family from Pennsylvania.
SARAH PUTNAM Oswego, Labette County
She is 78 KY and lives with John and Georgia McLane. She was married to Henry Putnam from New York. Georgiana 38 IL is her daughter. They were in Bureau County Illinois in 1870 and here in Oswego in 1875 and 1880. She was widowed here in 1895 by herself, and was here with her daughter in 1900.
SARAH PUTMAN Leavenworth, Leavenworth County
She is 71 IRE and lives alone. She is the widow of Silas R. Putnam from here. She was widowed here in 1900 too. Silas was a son of Silas Putnam and Martha Jordan of Windsor County Vermont and then Lenawee County, Michigan.
SILAS A. PUTNAM Leavenworth, Leavenworth County
He is listed as 34 KS and a druggist. He is a son of Silas and Sarah Putnam from here. He was married to Emma Courtney here in 1900, and then will be married to Kittie Gardner here in 1910. In 1920, he will be in San Diego California with a third wife named Ada Gardner from Missouri. His dad was a son of Silas Putnam and Martha Jordan of Windsor County Vermont and then Lenawee County, Michigan and then here in the 1860s.
He is now 42 OH. His wife Anna M. Walkup is 37 VA. They have Bert (Herbert Hoover from Anna’s first marriage) 19 KS, Mabel 15 KS and Helen 11 KS. Also here is Anna’s sister Jennie Walkup 48 VA who has been with and will be forever. He is a son of Henry Clay Putnam and Amanda Webster, and was born in Devil's Dam, Ohio. The family was in Chase County, Kansas in 1880. His folks are now in Oregon. They are here in 1900 through 1930 and then forever. New England family.
She is 17 KS and boarding. She is a teacher and lives with several other ones. Can’t find her in 1900 so no ideas.
He is 50 PA and his wife Laura Alma Peacock is 46 TX. They have Lucille 20 CO, Frank James 18 CO, John Sidney 15 CO and Bessie (Mary Elizabeth) 12 KS. He is a son of Sidney and Lucy Putnam from Warren County Pennsylvania. Sidney is a son of Daniel Putnam and Betsy Barnet of Vermont, Buffalo, New York, Warren County, Pennsylvania and now here. Sidney will die here March 23, 1908. They were in Breckenridge County in 1860 and Lyon County in 1870 and 1900, and obviously in Colorado in between.
Frank and Laura are here in 1910 and 1920.
He is 48 KS (really is Buffalo NY) and his wife Lydia E. Brown is 44 PA. At home are Charles 21 KS, Lucy 20 KS, Sidney 18 KS, Ralph 15 KS, Elma Olivia 12 KS and John Harold 5 KS. He is a son of Sidney Putnam and Lucy Ann Shepherdson from Buffalo New York and here in Breckenridge County by the 1850s. Sidney was a son of Daniel Putnam and Betsy Barrett from Guilford County, Vermont and then to Buffalo, Erie County New York and then Warren County, Pennsylvania. Sidney will be here till he dies in 1908. Fred and Lydia are here through 1920. She will die here in 1928 and Fred will marry an Adelia and they are here in 1930. Adelia will die in 1932, not sure when Fred does though.
He is 32 KS, his wife Nettie Rabourn is 33 MO, and they have Perry 9 KS, Inez 5 KS. His father Sidney Putnam 81 NY is with them as he was in 1900. He is a son of Sidney Putnam and his second wife Josephine Best from here. They will be here in 1910 through 1930 at least. Sidney is a son of Daniel Putnam and Betsy Barnet of Vermont, Buffalo, New York, Warren County, Pennsylvania and now here. This will be Sidney's last appearance, as he will die here March 23, 1908.
He is an oil field worker 52 PA and his wife M. M. (Matilda Humphrey) is 49 PA. He is a son of Lewis Putnam and Mary Ann Russell from Crawford County, Pennsylvania and from Chautauqua County, New York before that. They were in Warren County Pennsylvania in 1900 and will be back there in 1910. By 1920 they are in Washington County Oklahoma and he is widowed there in 1930.
She is 11 KS and lives with J. (John) S. Hogan 52. He is her grandfather and they were together in Cherokee County in 1900. They are living with Alfred and Ora Hibbs. In 1910 they are all here and she is listed as a stepdaughter of Alfred. Ora Hogan is her mother. I don’t find her in 1895 so can’t figure her dad out except he was born in Indiana.
He is 50 IA, and his wife A. (Amanda) L. is 38 IN. They have a son A. O. (Alpheus Orville) 17 KS, daughter I. M. F. (Ida Myrtle) 14 NE, and a son A. (Albert) C. 13 KS. He is a son of Jacob and Theodocia Putnam from Scott County Iowa and then Benton County in 1870 and in Jewell County Kansas by 1875. They were here in Norton County 1900. Not sure who Jacob is but guess New York Dutch. He was born there.

He is 74 VT and his wife Anna 36 IA. She is his second wife, they were here in 1900. He is a son of Reuben Putnam and Eleanor Abbott from Vermont. He was born in Bethel, Vermont on March 25, 1831. He married Mary Ann Stafford in Woodstock, Henry County, Illinois on December 15, 1859. They were in Wabasha County Minnesota in 1870, Kane County Illinois before that. He and Mary Ann were here in Smith County in 1885 and he was widowed here in Osborne County in 1895. They are here in 1910 and 1920.
He is 65 CT and his wife Ella A. Hamilton is 62 NY. They have Abbie E. 25 KS. He is a son of Elbridge Gerry Putnam and Eunice Knowlton, and born in Woodstock Connecticut August 1, 1839. They were in Kankakee County, Illinois in 1860. They were in Clay County Kansas in 1880 and 1885, in Riley County, Iowa in 1900 and 1905, and Bill and Ella are in Dundy County Nebraska by 1910. They will die in 1913 and 1916 and be brought back here for burial.
He is 49 CT and his wife Anna Belle Doty is 39 NE. They now have James P. 23 KS, William P. 15 KS, Katherine B. 7 KS, George W. 4 KS and Harriet W 1 KS. He is a son of Asa Spaulding Putnam (1635) and Sarah Elizabeth Wilbur. Israel (3286) was born in Brooklyn, Connecticut on October 29, 1855. He has been here in Kansas since the late 1870s. Israel and Anna were married in Osborne County Kansas May 20, 1880 and were in Rooks County in 1900. They are back in Osborne County in 1910 through 1930 and longer I am sure.
He is 34 MA, his wife Emily Margaret Belleville is 31 IL. They have Elliott 2 KS. His divorced mother Henrietta E. 70 ENG is with them and will be in 1910. He is a son of Harrison Kimball Putnam and Henrietta E. Crippen. Harrison is a son of Jasper Wheeler Putnam (#3105) and Mary Kimball, and was born in Grafton, Massachusetts March 22, 1830. He is 48 MA and his wife Kate (Lydia Catherine Russell) 40 OH. He is a son of Harrison Kimball Putnam and Henrietta Crippen. They have been here since the 1870s. His folks have divorced. His mom is here in town with his brother John Ernest Putnam. His dad was with him in 1900 too. Walter is here in 1910 through 1930.
She is 30 IL and Robert 39 IL. They live with G. C. and Mary Keusler. Can’t find them here or in Illinois.
He I now 75 ME and his wife Flora Sweet is 71 ME. He is from Oxford County, Maine, a son of Samuel Putnam and Susan Adams, and a grandson of Samuel Putnam number 1855. They were in Grant County, Wisconsin prior to heading out here, and were here for the State 1875 Census. They were here in Wichita in 1900. By 1910 Flora is widowed in Marin County California with her married daughter Ida Ritz. He is a commercial traveler.

They were married here in Elm Creek, Breckenridge County on December 24 1857. They were in Topeka in 1900 and still are in 1920 when he is 88 and Anna 72. Mary is widowed here in 1930 at age 82.

They were in Decatur County Kansas in 1895 and 1900, and are here in 1910 and 1920 and Emma is widowed in Portland Oregon with her then married daughter Edith in 1930.

The family was in Richardson County, Nebraska in 1870, and Clay County in 1880 where William was born. He has been here since the mid 1880s and will be in 1910. In 1920 they are in Tom Green County Texas still running the trains down there.

Mary was alone with her son in 1900 and will be back with him here in 1910 and then in Montana in 1920 and 1930. Guess they will be divorced.

Justin was a son of Reuben Putnam and Eleanor Abbott from Vermont. He was born in Bethel, Vermont on March 25, 1831. He married Mary Ann in Woodstock, Henry County, Illinois on December 15, 1859. They were in Kane County Illinois before going to Minnesota. They are here through 1930.

He is a son of Joseph Putnam and Mary Jamison from Lyndeborough, New Hampshire. That family was in Wabash County, Indiana in 1860. Then he was in Kansas in 1870 and 1880 by himself and married Agnes here. They were in Macon County Missouri in 1900 and will be in Wyandotte County in 1910, and then in Kansas City Missouri in 1930.

In 1930 Ida is with her son Clifford in Oklahoma.

He was born in Lancaster, Illinois March 23, 1877. He will die in Topeka, Kansas February 4, 1917. His dad was a son of Eber Putnam and Tryphosa Ballard from here and New York and Massachusetts before that.

He is a son of Henry Clay Putnam and Amanda Webster, and was born in Devil's Dam, Ohio. He and a couple of brothers stayed here in Kansas when his folks moved out to Washington State in the late 1880s. The family was in Chase County, Kansas in 1880 and here ever since. They are here in 1920 and 1930 and for the rest of their lives.

He is the son of Elbridge Gerry Putman Eunice Knowlton. He was born while the family was in Newport, Campbell County Kentucky, and then grew up in Essex Township, Kankakee County Illinois. He was married to Lucy Ann Cornwall and was there through 1910. He will be married to a new wife named Lida in Jackson County Oregon in 1920. Then by 1930 he is back here widowed in Neosho County Kansas at age 79.

They have been here in Kansas since the 1870s and are here through 1930.

Her sister is there so that’s how I know her last name. Then they are in Alger County Michigan by 1930.

He is Edward Rawson Putnam, a son of Harrison Kimball Putnam and Henrietta Crippen from here. He was born when the family was back in Worcester Massachusetts. Harrison was a son of Jasper Wheeler Putnam (#3105) and Mary Kimball, and was born in Grafton, Massachusetts March 22, 1830. They had been in Xenia, Ohio in the 1850s and 1860s, returned to Worcester, Mass for a spell and then came out here about 1878. They were in Ellsworth County in 1910 and are here in 1920 and 1930.

They moved to Wisconsin in the 1850s and George was there in 1880. He was married to a Ruth in Dane County Wisconsin in 1900. He was alone here in 1910. Lizzie is new. He will die here shortly on June 15, 1915.

He was home here in 1900. Rose would be a second wife. He was, I think, married to Nellie Clark in the 1905 range. She was alone with their son Earl here in Topeka in 1910. Ernest will have yet another wife Opal Scherner and be in Dickson County Iowa by 1925 and back here in Finney County Kansas by 1930.
