He is 41 MA MA MA, Jennie his wife of 5 years is 43 GER, Esther 16 MN. Jennie was married before, and Esther is from her first marriage. He is Frank Harwood Putnam, born February 1, 1869 in Sutton, Mass. He is a son of Peter Holland and Harriet Augusta Putnam. His folks are still back there. He was single in Duluth in 1900 and single here in 1905. He and Jennie are here in 1920 and 1930.
She is 73 NY and now widowed. She lives with her widowed daughter Clara Davis 52 IL. She is the widow of Mortimer Samuel Putnam from Oswego County, New York. They have been here since the 1870s.
He is 52 VT VT VT. His wife of 16 years Jennie Rector is 42 NY, Harold is 15 MN and Alice Elicia 12 MN. He was born January 9, 1857 in Grafton, Vermont, a son of John Henry Putnam (2825) and Alice Augusta Eddy. They were here in 1900 and will be in 1920. He is a State Senator.
She is Harriet Jane Willard and is 47 IL and now widowed. Her kids are Persis 21 WI, Katerina 20 WI, Rufus W. (William) 18 WI, Harriet 17 WI, Mary A. 12 WI, Janet 11 WI, and Emily 5 WI. She was here in 1900 and 1905 married to William Rice Putnam who has died in the last few years. William was a son of Rufus Putnam and Mary Herskell and was born in Clark County, Ohio. Jane and a couple of the daughters will be in Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois in 1920.
He is 32 MN MA MA. Marie C. Jorgenson his wife of 6 years is 27 MN DEN DEN, and they have Frank R. 1 9/12 MN. He is a son of William Herrick Putnam and his first wife Adeline Rowle from here in Red Wing. He was home here in 1900, and in 1920 will still be here with more kids. By 1930 they are in St. Paul.
He is 62 MA MA and President of the local Bank. Nellie L. Butts is his second wife, and they have been married 16 years now. She is 50 NY, Mary P. 35 MN, Frederick W. 25 MN, and Richard H. 8 MN. He is number 3193, son of William Richardson Putnam number 1542. He married Nellie here on July 10, 1894. His first wife Adeline Rowel had died in 1890. He’s been here since the 1860s and will be in 1920 too. OBITS has the son Richard born July 15, 1901 and died in Minneapolis September 6, 1981.
He is 70 NY NY NY and lists himself as single. He came here in about 1902 and was alone here in 1905. He has a nephew Edward M. Putman 34 NY, Edith his wife of 11 years is 35 NY and their son J. Kingsley 8 NY. Edward is a son of Ralph Lewis Putman and Jane Voorhes from Montgomery County New York. Edward Mahlon is a son of Mahlon Ralph and Amanda Putman. Mahlon and Edward T. were brothers. This whole group will head back to New York. Edward T. will die there in 1919 and young Edward and that family are in Hamilton County New York in 1920. Edith will be here till she dies June 23, 1960. He is 40 IL NY VT. Hattie Miller his wife of 18 years is 39 IL, Richard A. 16 IL, Frances J. 13 IL and Robert E. 3 MN. Also here is his widowed mother Laura Austin Putnam 73 VT. He is a son of Parker Putnam and Laura Austin of Peoria County, Illinois. He was home there in 1880 and was in Peoria in 1900 and here in 1905 with Hattie and the first two children, and will be here in 1920.
Still here and living with his son Henry. Abe is 57 IL and his wife of 30 years, Emma Holme is now 52 OH. Been here for ages. He’ll be here till he dies January 30, 1941.
She is 17 WI NY ME single and a maid. She is a daughter of Nelson and Cora Putnam and was at home in Suamico, Brown County, Wisconsin in 1900.
She is 29 MN NY NH and listed as a married daughter of E. R. and Alice May. The Mays have only been married 17 years, so this is a bit confusing.
He is 57 WI NY CAN. Mary Johnson his wife of 25 years is now 55 NORWAY. He is a son of Charles Wesley Putnam and Ellen Coyle. He was born February 6, 1853 in Oconomowoc, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. He married Mary in Dell Rapids, South Dakota July 1881. They were here in 1900.
He is 50 MA MA VT and now widowed. In 1900 and 1905 he was married to Mary Christian from Switzerland. She has died but her father John Christian 67 and widowed is still with them. Frank’s daughter Alice 25 MN is still here, and now his widowed mother Mary 75 VT is here as well. Frank is a son of Lorenzo and Mary H. Putnam. He was born in Becket, Berkshire, Massachusetts.
He is 65 MA ME ENG, and his wife of 17 years Emily L. is 75 MI. She is his second wife. They were here in 1900. He is Franklin Junior, a son of Franklin Putnam and Mary Rice from Houlton, Maine and then here in Minneapolis by the 1860s. He was widowed by 1880, and then married Emily in 1892. Franklin will die here in Minneapolis on May 30, 1919. Emily will die here January 7, 1917.
He is 64 NY and his second wife Mary Ann 49 MA. They have been married 9 years, second for both. In 1900 he was married to Nellie Fletcher and here in Minneapolis. George will die here November 26, 1913.

He is 29 IL ??, and has been married for 3 years to Carrie L. 29 MN. They are here in 1920 too, still no kids. He is a son of Abraham Putman and Emma Holme and was born while the family was in Cass County, Illinois. His family was all here in 1900. Dutch folks from New York State.

He was there in 1870 and 1880. He was widowed here in 1900 with Gladys and George. The James is either a typo or his middle name. He and Lilla are here in 1920, and he is properly listed as George then.

Also here is his son Hollis is 26 MN and his wife of 5 years Josephine 25 MN and two kids Arnold 3 MN and Harry 1 5/12 MN. Then there are Edna Becker his divorced daughter 24 MN, and her daughter Beatrice 2 MN. He is a son of Hollis Putnam and Charlotte Lobdell. He was born in Montgomery County, New York. The family was in Will County, Illinois from 1860 through 1880 and then in Chicago. He has been here married since the 1880s. They are in St. Paul across the River in 1920 and by 1930 he is back here and widowed. Dutch family from Montgomery County, New York.
She is 30 (really 56) NY NY CT and has her sister Frances M. 32 (really 54) NY NY CT. Both are single. They are daughters of John Skinner and Caroline Putman. They were here with their widowed mother in 1900.
He is 22 ND NY IA. He is out of work and boarding. Don’t find him anywhere around the Plains States in 1900.
He is now 56 MA MA VT, Mary C. Turnbull his wife of 31 years now is 52 IL, Edith E. 27 MN, Irving L. 25 MN, Albert T. (Turnbull) 19 MN, Roy W. 21 MN, and Margaret 18 MN. His folks were Lorenzo Putnam and Mary Thayer from Becket, Mass. They are here still in 1920 and she is widowed by 1930.
He is 34 ME ME ME, Lillian his wife of 13 years is 31 MN and Vera is 10 MN. They were here in 1900 and will be in 1920. He is a son of Franklin Putnam Jr. from Houlton, Maine, and was here with him in 1880 and married here in 1900. They are here in 1920.
She is 73 MA MA MA and single. She lives with her sister Emma Stevens 64 NY and her husband Frank Stevens and their family. They are daughters of Nathan Bancroft Putnam and Elmira Beaman from Franklin County, Massachusetts and then Chautauqua County, New York.
He is 53 PA PA PA and a Saloon Keeper. Frances Callie Frost, his wife of 11 years, is 29 VA and Harriett 5 MN. Callie’s married sister Doris Miller 35 VA is with them. They were here in 1900 and will be in 1920. His gin mill is called Put’s Bar. He will be here till he dies in 1938.
He is 30 WI NY WI. He is single and boarding. He was single in Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin in 1900. Think he is a son of Henry and Mary Putnam from Janesville. He was born in February 1881 so missed the 1880 census by a few months. He is married here in 1920.
She is 6 MN MN IA and he is 2 MN MN MI. They live with Frank and Mary Kidd. They are both living with Andrew and Sarah Putman here in 1920. These are probably kids of one of his brothers.
He is 41 MN NH WI. He is single and boarding. He is Willard’s son and is also listed as single in Beltrami County now. Andrew is a son of Willard Putnam from NH. He was here in 1900, but was born back in Douglas County. He is married here in 1920.
He is 27 MN NH WI. He has his sister Edith 19 MN NH WI. More of Willard’s kids. They were both here at home in 1900. Charles was in Beltrami County in 1905 and his brother Andrew is there now.
He is 50 NY CAN NY. Anna Elsie Stevenson his wife of 16 years is 48 NORWAY. Ida is 15 MN, Orpha S. 13 MN, Gordon W. (William) 7 MN and Anna E. 6 MN. He is a son of William Gordon Putnam and Sarah Sheldon of Lisbon, St. Lawrence County, NY. His dad was from Canada. He and Annie were here in 1900. He will die here June 15, 1916. Orpha is in St. Paul in 1920, but no idea where the rest are. Gordon is in Minneapolis in 1930 though.

She is 60 CAN and now widowed. Frank is 24 MN and Julia 15 MN. Elizabeth Diantha Bowen is the widow now of Charles Henry Putman. They were all here in 1900. By 1920 she and her son Frank will be next door in Pine County. Her son Howard Lee, listed next, will be with then there too.
He is 29 MN CAN IRE (actually MN IL CAN), Mary Sell his wife of 3 years is 20 MN and they have Lawrence 2 MN and Alice 1 MN. He is a son of Charles Henry Putnam and Elizabeth Bowen. He was off somewhere in 1900, but is here now and will be in Pine County along with his mother in 1920.
She is 28 MN and states she is married and has been for 9 years. She was here in 1905 with the kids too. She has twin daughters Hattie and May 7 MN. They are living with her folks Mathias and Lottie Hanson from Norway. She and the kids are here in 1920 too. There was an Edward Putnam living alone here in 1900. He was born in Illinois and the kids are listed MN IL MN so it would be him. She is still here with the kids in 1920 and in Minneapolis in 1930.
She is 80 CAN and widowed. She is living with her daughter Cora 40 CAN CAN CAN and her husband Alfred Sippel 49 CAN. She is Elizabeth Jane Edison, now the widow of Martin Mulford Putnam from Eligin East County in Ontario. She and Cara and Martin were there in 1881. Dutch family from New York originally. See the 1881 Canadian Census for his line. Elizabeth was his second wife. They were married back in Ontario in 1857.
He is 32 WI WI WI single and lives alone. . He is a son of John Putnam and Julia Adelene Wells. He was born in Auburn, Chippewa County, Wisconsin and was at home there in 1880 and 1900, and then was single in St. Louis County Minnesota in 1905. He is married here in 1920.
He is 49 IL VT IL, and a grain buyer. Maggie A. Hauk, his wife of 30 years is 47 NY, Jennie E. 26 SD, Ernest H. 18 SD, and Margaret E. 11 SD. He is a son of Kitterage Putnam and was born in Kane County, Illinois in 1859 and was there in 1860. In 1880 he was here in Lac qui Parle County with his dad. In 1900 he and his wife Maggie were in Grant County, South Dakota. They were back here in 1910. Frank will be widowed here in 1920.

He is a son of Henry and Caroline Putnam. He was born in Sherburne County, in Stearns County in 1870, and here in 1880 and 1900, and will be here in 1920.
He is 51 MN NY NY. Hannah Robinson, his wife of 25 years, is 43 WI, Floyd 21 MN, Worthy 17 MN and Birdella 12 MN. He is a son of Luman Putnam and Lavinia Vanderwark and was born in Wright County. He has been here since the 1890s and will be here in 1920.

Lenna Cochrane is 45 VT and widowed. She has her daughter Katheryn 14 ND NY VT and Bernice 10 ND NY VT with her. She and the kids were in Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota in 1900. She was married then to Fred S. Putman for New York. She and Bernice are here in 1920 and her son George is back here too.
She is 51 MN and married. She is a patient at Mounds Park Sanitarium. She would be Winnie Williams, wife of Hiram Morgan Putnam. They were in Traverse County together in 1900, and she is also presently listed with him back in Traverse County. Hiram will be remarried and in Minneapolis in 1920.
She is 52 GER (born in Berlin) and widowed. She lives with her married daughter Lydia Vogt 30 MN ME GER and her husband Anthony Vogt 35 GER, who have been married 11 years. Jennie Zell is now the widow of Sumner Putnam from here in St. Paul. She married Sumner here July 16, 1878. They are all still here in 1920.

He is Ernest Boles Putnam, a son of Henry Cleveland Putnam and Jane Eliza Balcom of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He and Helen were here in 1895 and 1900. Helen and the kids are in Volusia County Florida in 1920.
She is 31 IA MO NE, single and a servant with the Briggs family. She looks like the daughter of George Putnam and Ida Huyek from Grundy County, Iowa except the parents birth states are wrong.

They were at home there in 1870 and in Pierce County, Wisconsin in 1880. The folks have moved to California. Catherine is a doctor, Sarah a teacher. They were in Minneapolis in 1900.

He is 64 NY NH CT. Mary E. his wife of 42 years is 66 AL, Lulu S. 34 MN and Ada J. 38 MN are still at home. He is still a Clergyman. He is a son of Pliney Putnam and Flora Edgerton and was in Winona County since he was born, and then in Nobles County in 1900 and here in 1905. By 1920 they will be in South Dakota.
He is 53 MN MA MA and is still the Postmaster in town. Viola M. Johnson, his second wife, is 47 MN, Pearl M. 23 MN, Lester R. (Russell) 9 MN, Bert L. 8 MN, Daisy A. 5 MN. He is a son of John Elmer Putnam and Nancy Merriman from Massachusetts. He was born here and will be here still in 1930.

George is the son of Peter Putman and Patience Godfrey from Wright County as shown there in 1870 and 1880. Lilla is a daughter of John Elmer Putnam from here. They were here in 1900 and will be in Snohomish County, Washington by 1920.

He was home with him in 1900 here. I think the listing calling him a son is wrong, probably a ‘servant.’ Census guy probably wrote ‘ser’ and it was interpreted as ‘son. At any rate Carrie is not his mommy.

He is a son of John Elmer and Nancy Merriman and was born right here. He and the family were here in 1900. They are in Morrison County in 1920 and 1930.

He is 3 NORWAY and his sister Avis 1 NORWAY. They are listed as grandchildren of Elijah and Ada Clark from Wisconsin. Actually they were born in North Dakota and are children of Ernest Putnam and Jessie Clark. They are back with their folks in Chisago County in 1920.

He is a son of Charles Henry Putnam and Elizabeth Diantha Bowen from Wright County. He was home there in 1880, and he and Margaret are all still here in 1930. Dutch family originally from New York State.

They have Willis A. 21 ND, Julia M. 18 MN, Myrtle N. 16 MN, Arnold E. 8 MN and Harold C. 5 MN. Mary’s mom was with them in 1900, and that’s how I know her last name. Mary is widowed here in 1920. Best guess is that he is a son of Ira and Elizabeth Putnam as shown in 1860 in Luzerne, Warren County, New York.

He is a son of Alfred Putnam and his second wife, Florilla. He was shown at home in 1870 and 1880 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan. They were here in 1900 and 1905 and will still be in 1920.

He is a son of Parker Alonzo Putnam and Ida May Henry, and was here with them in the 1890s. He was in Stutsman County, North Dakota in 1900 with his first wife Jenny Olson also from Norway. His folks are still here and listed shortly. Actually looks like they may be in the same house, or at least next door. Walter was born November 13, 1898 and wioll die in Wilkin County June 5, 1961.

Winnie’s widowed mother Leslie Williams 69 NH is with them. Winnie is also listed in a sanitarium in St. Paul now as well. Hiram will be in Minneapolis with a new wife in 1920. Young George will be in North Dakota in 1920 and in St. Paul by 1930. Young Hiram in Montana in 1920 and back in Minnesota in 1930. He is a son of Alonzo Putnam and Hannah Cole from Haverhill, Grafton County, New Hampshire.

He is 24 NH NH NH. He has been married to Lillian May Collins for 3 years. She is 24 MN and they have a son Wayne 2 MN. May’s brother, Something Collins 22 MN is with them. They are in Ransom County, North Dakota in 1920 and 1930. He is a son of Walter E. Putnam and Mary Eva True. His dad died in the 1890s here and his mom remarried Elsworth Dwella and they were all in Todd County in 1900. His dad was a son of Alonzo Putnam and Hannah Cole from Haverhill, Grafton County, New Hampshire, and a brother to the above Parker and Hiram Putnam.

He was home there in 1900 and will be here in 1920. Edgar married Lelia August 14, 1907 here in Wabasha County. OBITS has the son Ray born December 24, 1909 and died here in Elgin in December 1985. Edgar Worthy was born February 19, 1874 and will in Olmstead County May 22, 1955.

He is a son of Pliny Putnam and Flora Egerton from Arkwright, Chautauqua County New York and Winchendon Massachusetts before that. He came out here with his folks in the mid 1850s. His dad was widowed here in 1880. Alvers was an attorney and will be here in 1920 at age 90.

There is a record of a Frank Hiram Putnam dying here March 21, 1938. At any rate, He is a son of Alonzo Putnam and Hannah Cole from Haverhill, Grafton County New Hampshire. He was shown there as Hiram in 1860 and 1870 and gone by 1880.

He is also presently alone in Trail County North Dakota where his wife Myrtle is from. Still can’t find any parents that fit at all. He will die here in Hennepin Count September 212, 1935.

Think he is a son of Henry and Mary Putnam from Janesville. He was born in February 1881 so missed the 1880 census by a few months. They are in Minneapolis in 1930.
He is 32 NE, Olga 33 GER. He is a son of Willis and Anna Putnam (from NY) and was with then in 1900 in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska. He and Olga are in St. Paul in 1930.

He obviously took a little trip across the border before moving back here. He was in Red Deer Alberta in the 1911 census. He will die here April 20, 1949. There is a Beatrice Becker 12 MN listed as great niece (actually granddaughter was with her divorced mother Edna Putnam Becker in 1910). The family was in Minneapolis in 1900 and 1910. He is widowed back across the river there in 1930. He is a son of Hollis and Charlotte Putnam from Montgomery County, New York and then Will County, Illinois. Josephine will die in Minneapolis (probably in a hospital) on September 6, 1926.Dutch folks.

She is Josephine Vermilyea 66 NY, and she is the ex-wife of James L. Putnam, and was married in Yellow Medicine County in 1900. She was there in 1910 but divorced at that point. She lives with her daughters Pearl A. 44 MN, and Ruth 34 MN. They are all here in 1930 and she says she is then a widow. Pearl was born August 29, 1875 and will die in Yellow Medicine County January 22, 1963.

Lena Cochrane is the widow of Frederick S. Putnam. They were in Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota in 1900, and she was widowed here in 1905 and 1910. She is 53 VT and her daughter Bernice is 19 ND. There is also a boarder. Her son George also lives here in St. Paul and was listed earlier. Lenna is here in 1930, but Bernice will be in the Minnesota Hospital for the Insane in 1930.

She and her daughter Grace were in Boston in 1900. Looks as if Grace married and the all came out here together. Neither are in Boston or Massachusetts now at any rate.

He is 22 KY, Mabel 21 MN. He is a son of Robert E. Lee Putnam of Bell County, Kentucky. He was there in 1900 and 1910. His brother Robert E. Lee, junior is across the river in Minneapolis. The family is originally from Massachusetts, and then settled near Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky in the early 1800s. Robert Senior was a son of Alpheus George Putnam, who was a son of George Washington Putnam II and grandson of the elder George Washington who was a son of Israel Putnam II and Sarah Waldo of Pomfret, Connecticut.

He is a son of John Elmer Putnam and Nancy Merriman from Sutton, Massachusetts.

He is 55 MI, Frances his wife 54 WI. They are here in 1930. He is a son of Abram and Mary Putman from Ingham County Michigan. He was home there in 1870 and 1880. In 1900 he was married in Jackson County Wisconsin. In 1910 they were in Barron County Wisconsin and are here in Duluth in 1930.
