Charlotte is a daughter of Stephen Joseph Moses and Rose Anna Tetreault and was born in Malone, New York January 30, 1898. She married Arthur Johnson in Weston, Vermont November 1, 1912. She married Frank December 23, 1919 and will die in Meriden, Connecticut December 2, 1951. The daughter Gertrude Helen was born December 4, 1918 and will die April 8, 1987. The son Stephen Gilman was born February 17, 1922 in Dublin, New Hampshire and will die in New Haven Hospital, Connecticut March 17, 1998. He was living in Meriden at the time. He was married to Doris Rundstrom. Elizabeth Ella was born February 4, 1924. Frank Edward was born September 13, 1925 and will die in Greenfield, New Hampshire in February 1972. Mildred was born December 23, 1927 and will die in New Hampshire August 2, 2002. Lillian Eva will be born soon on October 23, 1930 and will die in Florida August 31, 1978. They will also have a son Joseph Walter born May 26, 1934 and will die in a couple of weeks on June 10, 1934.

She was born March 31, 1874 and died in Wolcott August 23, 1911. His brother Edward is living here, but I’ll give him a separate listing. The son Hiram Smith Putnam was born in Wolcott, Lamoille County September 5, 1905 and will die in Colchester, Chittenden County Vermont July 8, 1982. He just married Edith Laura Mansfield here on March 31, 1930. She was born December 17, 1907. They will have three children, one being Donald Warren Putnam born here in Keene June 10, 1931 and will die in Morristown, New Jersey November 14, 1959. He will marry Thelma C. Frost and they are in New Boston, Bowie County Texas in 1955 based on a death certificate for a daughter born January 27, 1955 and died eight days later.

(Herbert) 5 NH (born November 16, 1924). He married Bernice June 9, 1923 in Charlestown. There is also a stepson Franklin Beales 16 NH ME NH. Herb is a son of Arthur H. and Emma Putnam from Windsor County Vermont. Ed Putnam found photos of paper caps for milk bottles (I remember those as a kid) stating “RAW MILK, H. A. PUTNAM, ENFIELD NH.” They don’t have dates but this must be him a little later in life. This was the un-pasteurized milk that had the cream rise to the top and you shook it up before serving. Or you skimmed off the cream and had was is now called ‘skim milk.’ I had it all through the 1940s and into the 1950s. Anyway, Herbert was born June 23, 1898 and will die here in Enfield in July 1971.

Rose was born September 24, 1900 and will be here until she dies July 31, 1988. The son John Ervin will marry Marie Antoinette Belisle here on February 3, 1951.

At home are his son Wendell 27 NH, who is also working as a photographer with his dad, his wife Myrtle Anna Davis 46 NH and their daughter Dorothy Myrtie 3 NH. Wendell David was born September 23, 1902 and will die here in Antrim in December 1984. He married Myrtie July 14, 1927. Then there are his son Lester 25 NH listed as divorced and their daughter Ella 22 NH and still single. Lester James was born May 15, 1905 and will die here in 1972. Very soon he will marry again to Susan Elizabeth Price who was born in South Wales, England on February 1, 1905. The daughter Ella Ismae was born April 16, 1908. She will marry Alfred William George here on March 27, 1937. Something will happen and she will marry Walter Stanley Dutton. Walter was born October 16, 1889 and will die October 21, 1949. Don’t know when she died. Erwin is a son of David Putnam and Marietta Wait from Lyndeborough. He was at home there in 1900, and they were here in Antrim in 1910 and 1920.

Also here are her daughter Sarah Josephine 58 MA and husband Charles Knight 57 ME and their son Edward A. 29 NH.

She is a daughter of Frank Berry and Ethel Brock and was born in Weare Hillsborough County May 31, 1898. He was married previously to Ella Etta Wilson in 1902 and they were divorced about 10 years later. He was in Rindge Cheshire County as was his brother, the following William, in 1920. Alvah was born September 11, 1914 and will die in Concord May 20, 1988. Percy was born May 31, 1919 and will die here August 5, 1994. Roscoe was born February 16, 1917 and will die in Antrim on March 2, 1993.

He is William Arthur Putnam, son of Levi Gilman Putnam and Abbie Louise Colby from Nashua, but he has been married to Rebecca Reid George through 1920 and had a bunch of kids of his own then. Guess there was a divorce and she has the kids. Not sure. The George and Sewell here in town are his brothers.

They were in Manchester in 1900 and just south in Rockingham County in 1910 and 1920.

Percy headed south in the early 1900s as well and was back up here by 1910 and been here ever since. He was born December 11, 1878 and Married Martha August 27, 1902. He will die here December 20, 1961 and she on August 8, 1946.

She married again and they were here in Manchester in 1910. No idea as to his Putnam daddy except he was from New Hampshire.

She is 77 MA and widowed. Her ‘widowed’ son Herbert is 51 NH and still has two kids, Lillian 18 NH and Ida 20 NH. They were all here in 1920. Jennie Howard was married to Herbert Putnam here since the 1880s. He was a son of Barnes Bigelow Putnam. Lillian was born July 7, 1892 and died in Concord in May 1968. She never married. The son Herbert Lovejoy had first married Ethel Burtt February 8, 1905. She died September 26, 1916. He was widowed here in 1920. Then he married Helen Eaton in Boston in 1924 and they split. Herb is still ‘widowed’ in 1940 and is here with Lillian. He runs a chicken farm. Stephen Scheidel, kinda on the line a descendant of Helen Eaton and her first husband Clarence Sandborn and stepson of Herbert, found an obituary for Helen. She hung around, Nashua, then Boston and later Brockton, Massachusetts and died there March 23, 1960. So Herbert, or Hub as he was called, isn’t really a widow except for Ethel.

The son Albert L. was born March 31, 1916 and will die here in Milford in February 1993.

Hyde of Belmont, Massachusetts on February 17, 1934.

Ernest and his family were in Woodstock, Grafton County in 1910. His folks were in Lowell, Mass. since the late 1870s. That’s where Ernest was born. He was here in 1920 too. Myrtle was born December 30, 1882 and will die in a hospital in Concord in June 1971.

He is 32 MA OH MA and his wife Phyllis McNeil is 22 CAN ME CAN. He is an investment clerk. He is a son of William Harrison Putnam and Annie Marble and was born in Worcester, Massachusetts May 9, 1898. He was at home there through 1920. His dad was a son of Frederick Wheeler Putnam and Caroline Crocker from Grafton, Massachusetts. Phyllis was born January 31, 1908 and will die April 12, 1979 in Danville, California. They were married on October 6, 1929 in Worcester. They are in Salina, Kansas in 1940. They will later on go out to Alameda County California and he will die there February 27, 1987.

He is a son of Lester Gifford Putnam and Lena Ruth Jones and was born in Barnard, Windsor County Vermont September 4, 1885 and married Lena May 3, 1911. He died in 1913 of a gunshot wound. Don’t know if self inflicted or accident. His mother Lena married Harold Fred Snelling November 13, 1915 and Young Lester was then adopted by his aunt Laura Beane officially in January 1920. He is married here in 1940.

He is a son of Wilmot Putnam and Amy Vanbuskle from Leominster Massachusetts and Fitchburg before that. His dad was the son of Albert Sanderson Putnam, son of George Washington, son of Stephen (1209). He was born in Halifax, Vermont. They are in Patchogue, Long Island, New York in 1940.

He is 66 NH NH NH and now widowed as his wife Flora Etta Clough has died February 1, 1929. He is a son of Charles Putnam and Almira Eastman from Hopkinton. He will die here February 9, 1951.
He is 6 NH NH NH and lives with his grandparents Edwin and Edith Johnson.
He is 47 MA NH VT and is a locomotive engineer for the steam railway. His wife Minnie I. Powers is 48 NH and they have Marian A. 24 NH and Helen A. 23 NH. Also here is her widowed mother Jane B. Powers 73 NH. They have all been here since the 1910. His folks Phillip and Lucie live next door.

She is 19 NH NH MA and a student nurse at the Exeter Cottage Hospital. She is a daughter of Daniel Elmer Putnam and Edith Powers from New Ipswich.
HOWARD PUTNAM Hampstead, Rockingham County
He is 43 NH and is living with his wife Esther V. Clark 36 NH, and his sister Maude S. 42 NH. He is a son of Oliver Putnam and Mary Moores and was born here in 1886 and will die here in 1950. Esther was born in 1893 and will die here in 1977.
He is 47 NH NH NH and is a real estate salesman. His wife Josephine Brown is 36 NH. He is a son of Oliver Putnam and Mary Moores from here. He was home with his mom in 1900, just married here in 1910 and then in Palm Beach Florida in 1920. His tombstone here in Hampstead states he was born August 12, 1882 and died March 20, 1960. It then lists his wife Aletha Harvey born December 16, 1896 and died April 4, 1935 and her mother Minona Lewis Harvey born January 18, 1874 and died March 1, 1956. So he and Josephine will get divorced and he will marry Aletha soon and she will then up and die on him a couple of years later. He is ‘widowed’ here in 1940.

He is 68 NH NH NH a farmer. He is now widowed as Lillie Jane Wood has died in the past few years. Samuel Wesley is a son of Samuel Putnam (2593) and Mary Annette Minard from Charlestown. He has been here in Acworth since he was married in the 1880s.
He is 45 NH NH NH and owns a dairy farm. His wife Ethel Aurilla Pierce is 27 NH. They have Dorothy L. 16 MA, Donald E. 14 NH, Celia E. 3 NH and Fred M. 1 NH. I don’t find him in 1920, but Ethel is obviously a second wife. He is a son of Otis Winter Putnam and Lucy Russell from Croydon. The two oldest kids were with their grandparents George and Emma Wright in 1920. So his first wife was a Wright. Ethel was born October 1, 1902 and will die here in Charlestown in November 1986. Young Donald was born December 8, 1915 and will die in Claremont in October 1985. The son Fred was just born April 21, 1929 and will die in nearby Claremont November 28, 2007.

He was single here in 1900, and just married in 1904. This is Ella’s second marriage, it’s his first. She still has two of her Blood daughters, Bertha Blood 47 NH and Elizabeth 40 NH and her husband Harold Ward 42 MA. Harold is a state highway policeman. Ella is a daughter of Warren Adams and Sarah Brown. She was married to Charles Blood who died in 1894 and then married Fred in 1904.

Mary is a daughter of Henry Elbridge Smith and Elizabeth Royce. The son John Junior will die in a hunting accident in 1932. The son Harvey was born May 1, 1915 and will die in Alstead, New Hampshire in October 1978.

Laura was born November 19, 1856. Her folks moved to Glen Falls, NY where he died in 1864. She was back by the 1870 and been here ever since.
He is 62 VT VT VT and owns a fish market. His wife Katherine is 60 MA. He is a son of Gorham Putnam and Helen Rice from Springfield Vermont. He was there in 1880 and then pops up in 1900 in Rhode Island. They were here in Newport, Sullivan County in 1910. At that time his dad was here with him.

Think he is the one in Watertown, Middlesex County Massachusetts in 1940 with a new wife Amelia Catton.

Oliver was born June 18, 1869. Susie was born September 4, 1869, a daughter of Asa Harriman and Eliza Bowen. Eliza is a Putnam too. They were in nearby Unity in 1900 through 1920.
