They were married in 1889 and there in New Hampshire in 1900. Obviously moved out here where Prescott was born. By 1920, Willie has married Mary and they are in Windham County, Vermont and Prescott is there with them. Interesting story I would guess.

Bemus Point in 1920. Mary will die in December 1921, and he will marry Edith
Wilson September 14, 1922. Frank was born March 7, 1876 and will die here July
20, 1959. Edith was born January 14, 1889 and will die here July 5, 1946. The
son Harold was born February 27, 1898 and will die February 19, 1920.

He was in Goodhue County, Minnesota in 1870 as a government surveyor. He was married to Angelina E. Lewis who died there about 1875. He came back here in 1875 and ran a book business. He is the Postmaster here in Jamestown. They got overlooked in 1900, but pretty sure he was here then too. They are here in 1920 too.

Almira Emery from Stockton. They are here in 1920. He was born in 1856 and will
die in 1929. Martha was born in 1852 and will also die in 1929.
He is 23 NY NY NY and a dairy farmer. Lillian M. Waterman his wife of 4 years is 22 NY, and their son Donald G. is 1 NY. He is a son of George F. Putnam and Myra Eliza Crissey of here in Stockton. They are here with a couple more kids in 1920.
He is 78 NY MA MA. Celetsia S. (Sally) Matthewson his wife of 39 years is now 65 NY. Also here are their son Benjamin F. 20 NY and his brand new wife Ellen A. Beckman 24 NY. He was born in 1831 and will die in 1917. Sally will be widowed by 1920 and be living with Benjamin and his family. In 1930 she is 86 and living with her married daughter Blanche Shortman and her family.
He is 19 CT OH NJ, and Maggie Fuller his wife of 2 years is 17 NY. He is a bookkeeper. He is obviously a son of the following Israel and Florence Putnam. In 1920 his wife is here listed as Maria and has two kids including a son named Israel born in 1910 or 1911, and they are all living with her father John Fuller. Must have been a divorce. I don’t find Israel in 1920, but he is remarried to a woman named Ethel and they are in Bradford County Pennsylvania in 1930.
He is 47 OH OH OH and an optician. Florence Somerby, his wife of 26 years is 46 NJ, Georgiana 25 CT, Ruth D. 20 CT, Charles S. 15 CT and Dorothy 13 CT. Interesting. He is a son of Peter Radcliff Putnam (3248) and Emily Mixer, and was born in Marietta, Ohio. His dad died in 1863. He and his brother Abbott ended up in Connecticut by the 1870 census. His brother was listed in Litchfield County through the 1900, but I haven’t seen Israel since then. He obviously was in Connecticut though. Abbott has also just appeared in New York and is in Steuben County, and will be in 1920 too. He and Florence are still here in 1920, but he lists himself as John Putnam then.

but his wife Louisa isn’t here. He is working on the Whitney farm. He and Louisa are also listed in
Colesville, Broome County at this time. He is a son of David Henry Putnam and
Jane E. Penney. He was shown at home in Doraville, Boone County in the 1880,
and was married to Louise Parsons there in 1900. In 1920 though he is shown
alone living with his sister Lena in Brooklyn, New York. And in 1930 he is back
in Broome County and then says he is widowed.
She is 63 NY NY NY and widowed. She is in the Clinton County Poor House and will be here still in 1920. I would guess she was the one who was in the St. Lawrence County State Hospital in 1900.
He is 58 NY NY VT, a farmer. Lucinda Whitney his wife of 35
years is 58 NY. Also here their son Herman 31 NY, Libbie (Elizabeth Disco), his
wife of 9 years, is 27 NY, Lola 7 NY and Floyd 6/12 NY. Archelaus is a son of Aaron Putnam and Jane
Ormsby, and was born here in Peru. They are all here again in 1920.
He is 64 NY NY NY and a farmer. Emma Jane Andrews, his wife
of 44 years is 65 NY. They have a niece Ida Andrews 15 NY with them. As they
never had any kids, Ida is probably related to Emma. He is another son of Aaron Putnam and Jane Ormsby, and was born
here in Peru. Emma will be widowed here in 1920.
Yet
another son of Aaron Putnam and Jane Ormsby. Melvin is 60 NY NY VT and a house
carpenter. Elizabeth Ormsby his wife of 39 years is now 64 NY. They have a
nephew with them, Clayton Lamay 11 NY. There are also three Ormsby families
living next door. Kinfolk.
He is 12 NY NY NY and listed as a servant with a Houghton Family. There are also several other kids lised as servants and a Mary Hayes who is a teacher. Maybe kind of a foster home or something. At any rate he is a son of Melvin and Lissa Putnam. He was at home here with them in 1900, and they are missing now.
She is 71 NY and widowed. She is living with her brother William H. Ayers 80 NY and her sister Amy Ayers 73 NY. She was married to Ephraim Putnam here in 1870 and has been on her own ever since. In 1880, she was here and Ephraim was in New Hampshire. I think she is divorced rather than widowed. Vanity I guess.
He is 29 NY NY SC. He is a prisoner at the Clinton State Prison. Best guess is that he is a son of Warren and Sophia Putnam. He was 5 months old in 1880 in Rochester, and I haven’t seen him since. For what it’s worth, there is a Harold Putman serving time here in 1920. Warren will be married to an Agnes in Buffalo by 1920.

is a son of Luke Spencer Putnam (1188) and Emeline Tompkins. He was born in
Woodbury, Connecticut. They are here in 1920 too.
She is 80 NY NH NY and widowed. She lives with her widowed daughter Alta E. Sutton 56 NY and grandson Frank Sutton 28 NY. She was in Oswego County in 1880 and 1870 and in Cayuga County in 1860. No idea as to her husband. She was with her daughter Alta Sutton and grandson Frank in Syracuse, Onondaga County in 1900.

kids of hers here in 1900, but he was listed as the kids’ stepfather. Now she
is using her Putman name. Her husband was Eugene Putman from here in Truxton.

NY NY NY. Anna Minerva Moore, his wife of 39 years, is 66 NY and their daughter
Sadie A. is 22 NY. He is a son of Phillip Putnam and Catherine Keller. He has
been in neighboring Otsego County since he was born, but has recently moved a
few miles north into Delaware County. His folks were from Montgomery County.
This is a Dutch line and his parents were the first ones to use the Putnam
spelling.
She is 80 NH and still has her daughter Kate 53 NY and her husband Henry Conklin 53 NY and granddaughter Lizzie Conklin 12 NY with her. Laura Submit Hall is the widow of John Woodbury Putnam (2758), a son of John Putnam (1235) and Almira French of Croydon, New Hampshire. John died here February 2, 1897. Don’t know when Laura will die, but it’ll be in the next 10 years.

Haworth, his wife of 31 years is 55 CAN. He is a son of Jonas and Sophia Putnam of Tioga County,
Pennsylvania. He was shown there at home in 1850. They were here in 1900, but I
don’t find them in 1920.

is 30 CAN. He was single here
in 1900 and will still be here in 1920.
She is 64 NY NY NY and single. Her sister Kate E. 53 NY NY NY and also single is with her. They are kids of James Osborne Putnam who died here in 1909 after a great career overseas. They were at home with their dad in 1900. In 1920 and 1930 they will be here along with their brother Harvey who is currently in the State Insane Asylum here now, but will be out soon.
He is 47 FRA NY VT and a patient in the Buffalo State Hospital. Actually he was born in the U. S. Consulate in Harve. He is a son of James Osborne and his second wife Kate Wright. He was born while his dad was U. S. Consul at Havre and then Minister to Belgium in the 1880s. He was with his dad in 1900, and then James died in 1903. Harvey and some sisters will all be here in 1920.

He was living with his first wife Nettie at his grandparents in Batavia in 1900, and then came out here. He married Rosamond in Welland, Ontario on May 2, 1908. They are here still in 1920 and in 1930.

They are here in 1920 and in 1930. James Wright is a son of James Osborne Putnam and Kate Wright from here in Buffalo.

She is 42 NY and single. She is a patient in the Buffalo State Hospital for the Insane, and will be here in 1920 and 1930 as well. She is the daughter of Thomas Putnam and Colonette Simmons from here in Erie County. She was at home with them in 1900.
She is 60 CAN, and widowed after 29 years of marriage. She has Katherine E. 28 CAN, John W. 26 CAN and Sarah C. 20 CAN with her. She is Mary Jane Bouey the widow of Jacob Putman from Niagara, Ontario. They were there in the 1881 and that’s the latest Canadian Census I have. The Jacob Putman here in Buffalo is a son of her Jacob’s brother Henry Putman.

His dad was from Tioga County, Pennsylvania and his mother from Ontario, Canada, so it all fits. Agatha is widowed here in 1920 and 1930 with these kids and two more, the last one born in 1914. Wonder if Russell died in WWI.

guess is that he is the son of Henry and Jane Putman from Niagara County. They
were in Yates County in 1900 and in 1920 Lillian is widowed in Genesee County.

William Frey 36 NY. They were all here in 1900. James was son of William and Mary Ann Putnam.

Colonette Simmons is the widow now of Thomas Putman, and is 70 NY. She lives with her daughter Grace E. 38 NY and her husband Robert Willis 42 NY. They have been here since the 1860s. Dutch family.

Hattie McClure was married to Safford Luther Putnam, a son of Joel Putnam and Esther Howe, in Cambridge, Lamoille County Vermont. He died there October 14, 1898. Hattie and Annie were boarding in Cambridge, Vermont in 1900.

1880 and 1900. He is still by
himself and boarding in St. Lawrence County in 1920.

Montgomery County. He was at home there in 1870 and 1880, and here in 1910. His
folks are here too and they were also here in 1900. They are in Amsterdam,
Montgomery County in 1920 and 1930.

47 years is 66 NY. He is a
son of David Putman and Nancy Dodds from Saratoga County. He married Sarah in
Amsterdam, Montgomery County on November 4, 1862. They were here in 1900 and
back in Florida, Montgomery County before that. I don’t find either in 1920.

NY, Clyde 19 NY, William 15 NY are with him. He is a son of John and Carrie
Putman. He was born Johnstown, and with them in 1880. He and Henrietta were
there in 1900.

mother. Can’t read it. At any rate she is with her folks George and Gazina
Putman here in Gloversville now and in 1920. They are listed next.

L. 14 NY, Hazel M. 11 NY. Then there is a listing for ‘father’ James L. Putman
83 NY is living with them. Adelbert is a son of William Brower Putman and his
first wife Mary Germain from Montgomery County. He was there in 1870 and 1880.
He and Jennie were here in 1900 and will still be in 1920. So, the James is not
his father, but might be Jennie’s. Another choice is this is his uncle James
Lansing who is right for this age. In 1900 James was living with Adelbert’s
folks back in Glen, Montgomery County.

Catherine Reid his wife of 31 years is 52 NY, and they have their daughter Ethel 22 NY and her husband George Lawrence 24 NY and their daughter Helen 2 NY with them. He is a son of John Henry Putman and Caroline McGregor of Johnstown. They were here in 1880 and will be in 1920.

Jane Smith. In 1900, Hattie was here with Mary Jane, and Irma was with William
H. Sism, and in 1920 they are here boarding with Malachi Nolan. Since they were
born after the 1880, I have no clue as to their folks.

He is 42 NY NY NY and a bartender in a saloon. Anna Amanda Lee his wife of 18 years now is 41 NY, and Ruth 1 NY. He is a son of William Putman and Harriet Melissa Lettis. He was born in Root, Montgomery County. They were here in 1900 and will be back in Root by 1920.
She is 74 NY NY NY a dress maker. She has several roomers. She is widowed but had been married 41 years. She is the widow of Peter Putman. They had been in Johnstown since the 1860s.
She is 32 NY NY NY and says she is married and has been for 15 years. Her son Harlan is 14 NY, Hazel 12 NY, Nelson (Stewart in 1900) 11 NY and Martha 7 NY. She was married to Stewart Putman here in 1900, and I guess still is. I don’t find any of these folks in 1920, so can’t tell.
She is 73 NY NY NY and still has her son Everett 41 NY with her. She is the widow of Peter Victor Putman. They were in Johnstown in 1870 and 1880 and she was widowed here in Gloversville in 1900, and they are here in 1920 too. Everett is married by then.
He is 39 NY NY NY. Clara May Brunner his wife of 17 years is 35 NY and Howard D. 10 NY. He is a leather worker. Don’t find them in 1900, but they are here in 1920 and 1930. He is a son of William F. Putman and Harriet Melissa Lettis from Root, Montgomery County.
He is 38 NY NY NY and a brick mason. He is rooming and lists himself as being divorced.

NY NY NY and runs a meat market. Emma Jean Olmstead his third wife of just one
year is 51 NY. She was married to a Miller before this her second marriage. See
the 1900 listing for Aaron’s other two wives. Still at home are Everett 17 NY,
Olin 16 NY, Laverne 14 NY and Howard 10 NY. He will die in the next few years,
and in 1920 Emma and all the kids will still be here. Aaron is a son of Michael
Putnam and Sarah Selmser. He was born right here in town.

NY NY NY, and Elsie Tefft his wife of 20 years is 51 NY. Also here are her
folks John and Catherine Tefft, and two of her sisters, one widowed and one
divorced. He was born here, a son of James and Louisa Putman. He and Elsie are
here in 1920 too.
He is 52 NY NY NY and a partner in a skin mill (leather maker). Minnie L. his wife of 24 years is 42 NY and their son Olin S. is 16 NY. He is a son of Andrew Jackson and Betsy Ann Putman. He has been here all his life, and will be widowed here in 1920.

NY NY NY, and his wife of 2 years Eva Sleezer is 20 NY NY NY. They live with
her folks James and Elizabeth Sleezer. He is a son of Charles M. Putman
and Arvilla Dygart and was in Mohawk, Montgomery County with both of them in
1900. I don’t find them in 1920.
He is 18 NY NY NY and is a wagon driver for a glove factory. He lives with his mother Arvilla 52 NY who has just married Thomas Haynes 78 NY. He is a son of Charles M. Putman and Arvilla Dygart and was in Mohawk, Montgomery County with both of them in 1900. Charles died recently. His brother Earl is listed above. His brother Levi and his new wife live here too, and are listed shortly.
Francis is 10 NY and Norman 8 NY. They live with their grandparents John and Jennie La Quay. Now, in 1900, Francis was with his mother Nina La Quay Putnam in Herkimer County. No ideas on dad though.
He is 28 NY NY NY, single and works in a glove factory. He is a son of Mahlon and Amanda Putman and was at home here with them in 1900. Think he is the single guy in Montgomery County in 1920.
For some reason this entry was listed under his wife Lottie and he was listed as her grandson. Oh well. Anyway he is 38 NY NY NY, Lottie (Charlotte Plantz) his wife of 6 years is 35 NY, and they have Howard G. 3 NY. They live with her widowed dad Giles Plantz 64 NY. They are all here in 1920, even Giles. Lottie is a daughter of Giles Plantz and his first wife Etta Howe. Then Giles married Henrietta Putman, daughter of Aaron Putman and Sarah Hobbs. George is a son of Aaron George and Catherine Putman also from here in Johnstown.
He is 42 NY NY NY and is an engineer in a shirt factory. Ida M. his wife of 13 years is 36 NY. He is a son of Hiram Putman and Mary Ellen Gray from here. They are here in 1920 too, and his widowed mother will be with them then.
He is 51 NY NY NY and his wife of 25 years, Catherine Nellis, is 46 NY. He is a farmer. Giles Henry Putman is a son of Stephen Philip Putman and Amanda Dockstadder from Mohawk, Montgomery County. They were back there in 1900 and will be here in Johnstown in 1920.
He is 46 NY NY NY and his wife of 14 years, Mary E., is 45 NY. This is his second marriage. They have Edison E. 8 NY. Also here is Lillian Putman 28 NY listed as a boarder. She is a daughter of Leonard Putman and Katherine Vosburgh from here in Johnstown. She will be still staying here in 1920. Harvey is a son of Hiram Putman and Mary Ellen Gray from here.
He is now 71 NY NY NY. Mary Ellen Gray, his wife of 51 years is now 76 NY. Hiram’s folks were John Peter Putman and Sarah Amelia Whitlock of Ephratah. He was living with his son George here in 1900
He is 46 NY NY NY and a farmer. Hattie (Harriet Mosher) his wife of 21 years is 44 NY, Etha 19 NY, Charles M. (Marvin) 17 NY, James B. (Baldus) 15 NY, Arthur S. (Spencer) 11 NY and Ira Junior 8 NY. Also here are his now widowed mother Hannah 83 ENG and his sister Hannah 48 NY and still single. He is a son of James Baldus Putman and Hannah Marple and was born here. His dad just died in 1909 and his mom will die here in 1911. Ira and Hattie are here in 1920 too.
She is 33 NY NY NY and says she has been married for 12 years. She lives with her married sister Mary Wilson and their family. In 1920 she is in Gloversville and living with her brother Elmer Hart, so that would be her maiden name. I don’t find her in 1900.

wife of 22 years, is 39 SCOT, and they now have Hilda 21 NY, Katherine 17 NY,
Grace 15 NY, Fred 13 NY, Robert 10 NY, Bessie 8 NY, Lester 5 NY and a daughter
Marion 1 2/12 NY. He is a son
of Richard Simon Putman and Celia Smith of Johnstown. He was born here January
24, 1864, and married Robina here in 1887. They are here in 1920 with two more
kids.

Montgomery County. He was home there in 1900. He is now married to a Lizzie 20
NY for two years, and they have Mildred 11/12 NY. He will be here in 1920 with
Mildred and another, younger, wife named Mabel.

NY NY NY and works in a glove factory. Jennie, his wife of 36 years, is 63 NY
and their son Eugene is 24 NY. He is a son of Cornelius Putman and Maria
Gardenier, and was born here. In 1920, I only find their other son Elmer around
here. Eugene appears married in 1930.
He is 68 NY NY NY and retired. Elizabeth Ann Plantz, his wife of 44 years is 66 NY. He is a son of George Aaron Putman and his first wife Magdalena Moore from Mohawk, Montgomery County. They were married there January 10, 1866. They were in Mohawk in 1880 and I don’t find them indexed in 1900, but probably here. They are both here in 1920 though.
He is 42 NY NY NY and he is a partner in a lunchroom. Lefa Kilmer, his wife of 10 years is 29 NY and they have a daughter Marion K. 2 NY. He is a son of Hiram Putman and Mary Ellen Gray from here in town. They were here in 1900. They are living with a Davis family who may be Lefa’s folks. By 1920, both John and Lefa are missing. Marion is here though living with her uncle Alex Kilmer. In 1930, John is widowed and living with his also widowed brother Harvey here in Johnstown.

wife of 12 years, is 36 NY, Myrtle 11 NY and Louis 9 NY. He is a son of Adam and Phoebe Putman of Johnstown. He is shown
at home in 1880. They were married here in 1900. In 1920 both are in
Gloversville, and he has a new wife Margaret. Divorced sometime between now and
then.
He is 55 NY NY NY and a farmer. Kate B. Donman, his second wife of 20 years, is 47 NY and Arthur D. is 13 NY. He is a son of Michael Putman and Sally Selmser of Perth, Fulton County. They were here in 1900, and Kate was married to a Vosburgh before this. Leonard is also listed in Glen, Montgomery County by himself and he states he is divorced. Hmmm.
He is 22 NY NY NY, and married two years to Effie Luft 19 NY NY NY, and they have a daughter Teirla 9/12 NY. They are here in 1920. He lives with his mother Arvilla 52 NY who has just married Thomas Haynes 78 NY. He is a son of Charles M. Putman and Arvilla Dygart and was here with both of them in 1900. Charles died recently. His brother Floyd lives here too, and is listed earlier.

years is 43 NY, Clarence S. 19 NY and William F. (Floyd) is 16 NY. He is a son of Michael Putman and
Sarah Selmser from here. They are all here in 1920. Clarence is married by
then.

NY and husband John Christof 24 NY. They live with their widowed grandmother
Margaret Hardy. In 1900 the kids were living with their parents Weston Putman
and Nora Hardy, and their grandmother was with them then. Now in both parents
have vanished, and they aren’t around in 1920 either. Guess both died or split
town.

any kids. He is a son of James Baldus Putman and Hannnah Marple’s son from here
in Johnstown. They were here in 1900 and will be in 1920.

Persis 23 NY, Mary 22 NY and Floyd 16 NY. He is a son of Orrin Putnam and Sophia
Huntington from Batavia. He was married to Roselle Quance, and then to Alice
Kinney in 1881. They were in Batavia in 1880 and 1900.
He is 61 NY NY NY and a farmer. His wife of 40 years Alice Shepard is 56 NY and their daughter Rosella is 29 NY. He is a son of Josiah Putnam and Lydia Shaw. He was born here September 25, 1848 and is married to Alice Shephard. Rosella is their only child. They are here in 1920.

years is 26 NY, and their daughter Beatrice is 4 NY. He is a son of Hartson and
Alice Putnam here in town. They were in Batavia like everyone else in 100 and
here now. He either lives with his uncles Merritt and Julius or next door.

NY NY NY and his wife Clara Stringham is 62 NY. They have been married 39 years
now. Also here are their kids Minnie 36 NY, Blanche 31 NY, Merton 22 NY and
Glenn 18 NY. Then there are his sisters Julia 53 NY and Laura 60 NY. Everyone
is single. His brother Julius is here, but I’m giving him a separate listing.
By 1920 Clara is widowed here.
He is 23 NY NY NY and working on the Steele farm. He looks like the son of Charles Putnam and Mary Soules from neighboring Orleans County.
He is 89 NY NY NY. Martha, his wife of 46 years, is 65 NY. This is his third and her first marriage. He was single here in 1850 and married by the 1870. No ideas at all on his folks.
She is 39 NY NY NY and lives with her now widowed mother Harriet Taylor. She was here in 1900. She says she is married and has been for 20 years, but no husband is ever present.
He is 55 NY NY NY and is a house carpenter. Carrie E. his wife of 28 years is 47 NY. He has been here sine the 1870s. He will die here in 1914, Carrie in 1938. They are both buried in Evergreen Hill Cemetery.
