THE JONES FAMILY

The followning history attempts to cover my line of the Jones Family from its origins in Wales, immigration to Pennsylvania, travel to North Carolina, to the times in Illinois when it became a part of the Sharon heritage.

Tracing my David Jones of North Carolina back to Pennsylvania or Maryland has been virtualy impossible. There were over a dozen David Joneses in Lancaster and Chester Counties of Pennsylvania between 1719 and 1748. Things were equally difficult in North Carolina where there were many, possibly related Jones families in the later 1700's.

At present, I can only begin with what I know in early Rowan County, North Carolina. This is where the history of my particular Jones Family begins.
