In this census and for a while, I will not be listing these folks alphabetically, but will list them by County so it may be easier to determine family groupings as I try and sort these kinfolk out. Several families are indexed as Putman, but they are all Putnams out of Massachusetts, so I am listing them all as Putnam. When I can, I will identify these guys and use the numbering system Eben Putnam used in his books on the Putnam Family.
In the 1790 census, the columns in the report are for males over 16, males under 16 and females of all ages.
The listing is 1-0-1. In 1800, he will be in Oneida County, New York with three children. According to the New York census in 1800, he will be living by Charles Putnam who is his father. That Charles is number 385 and his son Frederick is number 982. He will marry Mary King and head west shortly. The line is Frederick > Charles > Eleazer > Eleazer > John > John. Frederick was born in Preston, Connecticut on August 20, 1763. His father Charles was born in Preston October 13, 1737 and died in Paris, New York in the 1830s. Charles married Martha Rose of Norwich, Connecticut May 27, 1762 and they all moved to Paris, Oneida County in New York.
The listing is 1-3-5. He is number 443. He was born in Charlestown, New Hampshire January 25, 1751/52, and will die in Middlesex in 1824. He married Hannah Russell back in New Hampshire. His parents were Ebenezer Putnam (number 184) of Billerica, Mass and Mary Parker. This senior Ebenezer was one of the first settlers in Charlestown, New Hampshire, arriving there in 1745. The line goes back from Ebenezer > Seth > Thomas > Thomas > John.
The listing is 1-0-0. He is number 451, and a son of Ebenezer and Mary Putnam. He was born in Charlestown, New Hampshire March 18, 1771. He will be marrying Mary ‘Polly’ Worth in about 1800-1801.
The listing is 1-2-1. He is number 445 and another one of the sons of Eben and Mary. He was born in Charlestown, New Hampshire February 11, 1757. He married Rebecca Holden in Charlestown on March 29, 1784. He was in the Battle at Ticonderoga in the Revolution.
The listing is
1-2-4. He is number 444 and, of course, one of Ebenezer and Mary’s kids. He was
born in Charlestown, New Hampshire on August 9, 1754. He married Dolly Holden
in Charlestown. He too fought at Ticonderoga, and later with General Gates. He
was the third settler in what is now Washington County. He came in the 1780s
and will stay here.
The listing is 1-0-0. He is number 897 and a son of Tarrant and Mary Putnam. He is single now, but will be marrying Mary ‘Polly’ Fowler here in 1792. They will later move out to Brookfield, New York. Asa was born in Danvers, Massachusetts on December 28, 1763. He married Polly in Corinth, Orange County on January 2, 1792. Now, don’t get all excited on dates like this. They were probably married earlier, just that they got around to filing papers after the Court House re-opened after New Years Day. Asa’s line goes back Asa > Tarrant > Israel > Benjamin > Nathaniel > John. They will have two kids, Polly and Prudence, here in Vermont and then will have the rest over in New York.
The listing is 1-2-4. He may be Ebenezer Putnam 3rd, number 1095, a son of Ebenezer Putnam and Hannah Russell from Middlesex, Chittenden County, Vermont. The two towns are only about 5 miles apart. In 1800, they are both in Middlesex, Chittenden County. His father is number 443. For the line, see the listing for Ebenezer 2nd in Middlesex, Chittenden County, Vermont. This younger Eben married Abigail Lewis. Now I may be wrong and this is simply a dual listing for Eben 2nd as there seem to be just too many folks in this listing for Eben 3rd. In 1800, both do indeed appear in the same town.
The listing is 1-0-1. He is number 896 and another of Tarrant’s sons. The listing should have one more female as he had two kids at this time. Anyway, Israel was born in Danvers on November 22, 1760. He married Susanna Heath in Corinth, Vermont in April 1788. His line goes back Israel > Tarrant > Israel > Benjamin > Nathaniel > John. He is Asa’s brother.
The listing is 1-1-4. He is Number 792. He was born in Lyndeborough, New Hampshire in 1760 and died in Bradford, Orange County, Vermont on November 5, 1837. He married Olive Barron in Lyndeborough on November 30, 1783 and they moved here to Vermont in 1787. The young son is Jonathan Putnam born June 19, 1789. John’s folks were Ephraim Putnam, number 287, and Sarah Cram originally from Salem Village and then in Lyndeborough in the early 1740s. The line goes back from Ephraim> Nathaniel > Benjamin > Nathaniel > John.

The listing is 1-2-3. He is number 334. Tarrant was born in Bedford, Mass September 2, 1733 and will die here in Newbury in 1804. He married Mary Porter in Danvers on July 1, 1756. She died in the 1770s, and about 1785 he married a cousin of hers, Eunice Porter of Wenham, Mass. He served in the Revolution, and afterwards moved briefly to Bakerstown, Maine and then about 1789 he moved his family here to Newbury. Tarrant’s parents were Israel Putnam (number 126) and Sarah Bacon of Salem Village and Bedford, Mass. The line goes back from Israel > Benjamin > Nathaniel > John.
The listing is 3-4-3. He is number 540 in Eben Putnam’s books. He was born in Sutton, Massachusetts October 6, 1744 and moved to Vermont before the Revolution. He married Mary Wilkins November 27, 1766, but I don’t know if it was in Massachusetts or Vermont. Adonijah’s folks were Jonathan Putnam (number 205) and Anne Chase of Sutton. The line goes back from Jonathan > Elisha > Edward >Thomas > John. The children under 16 are Lucy, Anna, Israel and Jared. The sons over 16 are Lemuel, Elihu, and Asa. Adonijah will die here in late 1791 or early 1792.
The listing is 2-4-2. He is number 718. He was born in Warren, Massachusetts August 10, 1742, and will die here September 7, 1795. He married Anna Collins in Brimfield, Mass. on July 24, 1766, and they moved to Brattleboro. After his death, Anna will marry Benjamin Simonds of Massachusetts in about 1800. The children listed here are Perley, Lewis, and Ebenezer over 16, and Josiah, Alfred, Sewell and Sylvia under 16. Asa’s folks are Josiah Putnam (number 260) and Lydia Wheeler of Warren. Josiah was born in Salem Village and died in Warren, Massachusetts. The line goes back from Josiah > Josiah > John > Nathaniel > John.
The listing is 1-1-6. He is number 788. He was born in Lyndeborough, New Hampshire September 21, 1750. He married a widow Rachel Putnam Carlton of Wilton, New Hampshire. Rachel, number 799, was a daughter of Nathaniel (289) and Abigail Putnam of Wilton. They moved here to Guilford and will be here in 1800. They will then move to Buffalo, New York and remain there until the mid 1820s. Rachel died there, and Jesse and his sons Daniel and Edson, moved a little south into Warren County, Pennsylvania. Jesse will die there on November 19, 1837. Jesse’s folks were Ephraim Putnam (number 287) and Sarah Cram. Ephraim was born in Salem and moved to Lyndeborough, New Hampshire where he married Sarah. The line goes back from Ephraim to Nathaniel > Benjamin > Nathaniel > John.
The listing is 1-1-1. He is Adonijah’s (540) son. He is number 1341. He was born here. He and Hannah will be in Townsend in 1800 and then off to New York State.
The listing is 3-1-2. Miles is number 200. He was born in Middleton, Massachusetts in 1725 and died in Grafton, Vermont April 19, 1800. He married Rachel Wilkins of Middleton. They lived there until 1757 and then moved to Harvard and then Winchendon, Mass in 1772. They moved here to Thomlinson in about 1783. Miles’ parents were Edward Putnam and Sarah Miles of Salem Village and Middleton, Mass. Edward is number 50. The line goes back from Edward to Edward > Thomas > John.
The listing is 1-1-1. He is one of Miles and Rachel’s sons, number 513. He was born in Sutton, Mass and died in Grafton September 30, 1802. He married Dorcas Bond in Vermont on December 3, 1790. This date must be off as this census shows Daniel, Dorcas and their son Elijah.
The listing is 1-3-3. Another one of Miles’ sons, number 511. He was born in Middleton on August 20, 1755 and died in Grafton, Vermont December 2, 1843. He married Mary Mastick in August 1779. After her death, he married Hannah Mitchell June 30, 1805. The children are Levi, Edward, Hannah, Luke and another daughter.
The listing is 1-2-3. He is number 753. Eben didn’t have a clear line going here. I have picked up the line through research of a descendant. Uzziel was christened November 8, 1761 in New Salem, Mass. He married Mary Trask in New Salem March 12, 1782. Shortly after the marriage they moved north to Wardsborough, Vermont. In 1796 they headed out to Oneida County, New York and then to Adams, Jefferson County, New York in 1807. In 1811 he and others built a boat and sailed down the lakes to Detroit. They then settled in Huron County, Ohio. In 1813 during the War, the Indians under British control captured Mary and a son Orlean and they were taken to Detroit for ransom, and returned later that summer. In 1816, the family moved to Sandusky, Ohio where he died in the winter of 1822 in a sleigh accident. The kids at this point said to heck with Ohio and some returned to New York and a couple others went to Michigan. Now, since Uzziel wasn’t married until 4 years before this census, it looks like another family is living with him, but I have no idea as to who they may be. The line goes back from Uzziel > Uzziel > Amos > John > Nathaniel > John.
This listing is 3-2-3. He is number 474. He was born in Sutton, Mass September 7, 1738 and died here in Bethel May 4, 1808. He married Hannah Dike in Sutton on January 16, 1766. His folks were Holyoke Putnam (number 192) and Eunice Hutchinson of Salem Village and the Sutton, Mass. The line goes back from Holyoke > Edward > Edward > Thomas > John.
The listing is 1-1-3. He is number 480, and another son of Holyoke Putnam and Eunice Hutchinson of Sutton, Mass. His line is the same as his brother Ebenezer’s. Ezra was born in Sutton November 2, 1751 and he died here in Bethel July 1, 1841. He married Rebecca Dike in Sutton on December 14, 1780. He moved here from Sutton in 1787.
This listing is 1-3-2. He is number 481. He is a son of Holyoke Putnam (number 192) and his second wife, Esther Lovell of Sutton. Tom was born in Sutton, Mass July 1, 1754. He married Susanna Stone in Rutland, Mass on June 12, 1782. His line is the same as that of his brothers Eben and Ezra Putnam listed earlier. The line goes back from John Sr.> Samuel > John > Nathaniel > John.
This listing is 1-3-2. This Thomas is Thomas Junior (452d) a son of Thomas Putnam (189) and Rachel Weatherbee. He was born in Lunenburg, Worcester County, Massachusetts on February 27, 1758. Eben had nothing on him. The family went to Charlestown, New Hampshire, and are there now. Thomas is married to Mary Young. They will be here in 1800, and then be in Charlestown, New Hampshire themselves by 1810.
Again, a County by County listing. In the 1800 census both males and females are broken into 0-9, 10- 15, 16-25, 26-44, 45 and over.

Andrew was born in Sutton May 6, 1742. He married Lucy Parks of Sutton on January 10, 1764. They moved to Winchester briefly and then out to Greenfield, Mass. And now are up here in the heart of Maple Syrup Country. Whenever I go skiing at Burke Mountain, I go through St. Johnsbury and you can smell the syrup factories from miles away. Listing is 00110 50010. He is number 1287 and another of Andrew’s sons. He was born in Greenfield, Mass. April 8, 1778 and died here in St. Johnsbury September 2, 1867. He married Jane Karr Hall of Ackworth, NH on March 8, 1807 in Charlestown, New Hampshire. He will remain there until he dies in January 1858. This line goes back Seth > Thomas 452d > Thomas 189 > Seth 49 > Thomas > Thomas > John Putnam.
Listing is 21010 20010. Guildhall is up north in the middle of nowhere along the Connecticut River and the New Hampshire border. He is number 457, a son of Thomas Putnam (189) and Rachel Wetherbee originally of Lunenburg, Massachusetts and now of Charlestown, New Hampshire. Abel was born in Charlestown on June 29, 1766. He married Polly Whipple. In 1800, he was in Charlestown, NH and was listed 11010-00100. In 1820, there is a George Putnam here in Guildhall who seems to be the same guy based of the ages of the children now and then, however in 1820 there are 2 males over 26 in the household. But Abel is not listed in 1820 either in Vermont or New Hampshire. The George might be the brother of Seth Putnam also here in Essex County. Good Luck!
Listing is 32010 10110. He is in the Index as Putnam, but is really a Patterson when you look at the handwriting.
Listing is blank and then 6 people listed in the ‘all others’ category. This is a black family. He is in Burlington, Caledonia County in 1820.
He is listed in the Index, but not on the page he is supposed to be on (same as the above Isaac who would be his father). This is another black family. Jacob married Rosanna Crome Marte on May 25, 1801. They were married in Brattleboro, but he was listed on the certificate as being from Sheldon. He is with his folks in 1820 in Burlington. In 1825, he is in the State Census of Greenwich, Washington County, New York and was listed as a family of 5 people ‘of color’ and 3 others.

Listing is 00101 02021. This is Tarrant Junior, number 903. He married Ruth Chadwick here in 1805. His dad died in 1804. The other older gal and probably the other male would be siblings I would guess. The oldest female is his mother Eunice Porter Putnam. He will die here in about 1815-1816. His widow, Ruth, will remarry too Benjamin Brock in about 1817.

His son Joseph will be here in 1820 and on. There is also a record of a Reuben Putnam marrying Polly Downer here in Thetford July 27, 1818. This would be his son Reuben Junior.

Listing is 20010 21010. He is number 1342, a son of Adonijah Putnam and Mary Wilkins. His wife is named Polly Thomas (actually her name would be Mary). He was born about 1775 in Guilford, Windham County. He will be in Adams, Jefferson County, New York in 1820 as will his parents.
Listing is 00100 00100. He is number1314, a son of William Putnam (530) and Submit Fiske of Upton and then Buckland, Massachusetts. He was born May 18, 1786. He will serve in the Vermont Assembly and was a farmer. According to the 1850 census, his wife’s name is Triphena, but I have no idea as to her last name. This line goes back Elisha > William > Elisha > Elisha > Edward > Thomas > John Putnam.
Listing is 21101 32101. His wife is Hannah Allen. He is number 598, a son of Phineas and Lois Putnam of Sutton, Massachusetts. Lois is a Putnam by birth as well. Listing is 01011 00201. This John is number 702 and has been here a few years. His sons Jesse and Robert live near by. His youngest son, John junior number 1676 is still at home. I have no ideas as to who the younger male listed is.

He was born in Charlestown on July 13, 1781 and died February 13, 1834. He married Elizabeth Dickey Hall in August 1801 while in Charlestown. This line goes back from this Timothy > Timothy > Timothy > Seth > Thomas > Thomas > John.
Listing is 40201 22010. He is Archelaus 3rd, and was here in 1800. His wife is Martha Hawkins. They will be in Woodstock, Windsor County in 1820, and then they will be in Allegheny County, New York in 1830.
Listing is 21010 01110. He is number 470. He was born in Charlestown, New Hampshire on May 13, 1770 and he will die in September 1827. He married Anna Bailey March 5, 1795, and after her death married Jerusha Spencer also of Charleston. He will be in Weathersfield, Windsor County in 1820. Since both of his marriages were in New Hampshire, I assume he is currently married to Jerusha. The sons are Hiram born March 27, 1798, Guy June 11, 1800 and Joseph born in 1803. Bailey’s folks were Timothy Putnam (number 191) and Susanna Badger of Billerica, Mass. The line goes back from Timothy > Seth > Thomas > Thomas > John.

They will move to Montpelier, Washington County, Vermont in about 1818 and be there for the 1820 census.
Listing is 10011 00101. Jon and Lucy are still here. The eldest son here is Timothy, who will get the farm in 1826 when Jonathan dies (Lucy will die in 1825). There is a mistake in the male category. Joel would be 18 now and is still at home. There were no younger sons that I am aware of, so the ‘hash-mark’ is simply in the wrong column. The other female is Timothy’s wife Patty Gould.
Listing is 11010 21010. This Thomas is only a distant cousin of all the Salem Mass. folks. He was born in ‘the north of England’. In the mid 1780s he and his older brother John came to America. One version has it that they were pressed into service in the Royal Navy, and jumped ship in America. This was well after the Revolution, so we were once again freely trading with England. The two went to Hartford, Connecticut where John remained and raised a large family. Thomas, on the other hand, headed up the Connecticut River Valley and settled here in Windsor County. He will die here on July 28, 1831 (this according to bible records). But I do not find him in 1820 or 1830 here in Windsor. Thomas married Rosamond Rounseval in Washington, New Hampshire on September 24, 1787. In the 1820 New Hampshire census, there is a Thomas Putnam and a younger John Putnam in Washington, Cheshire County, N.H. Must be him and his son John, but just not sure. Also I think he is the one in Delaware County, New York in 1830, where he probably died. Since this family is not descended from John Putnam of Salem, Eben assigns no numbers, and had very little information.
In the 1820 census males are broken down 0-9, 10-15, 16-18, 19-25, 26-44, 45 and older. Females are divided 0-9, 10-15, 16-25, 26-44, 45 and over. Once again, I am listing by County in hopes of grouping these families.
The listing is 400110 10410. He is number 1882, a son of Jacob Putnam (768) and Abigail Burnap. He was born in Wilton, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire on October 4, 1771. He married Mary Burton in Wilton on January 14, 1796. They will be off to Chautauqua County, New York in about fifteen years. Jacob will die there September 30, 1844 in Westfield, New York.
The listing is 000010 001101. Jeptha’s son has moved over from Marshfield.
The listing is 010001 01010. He is Jokton’s son and was in Billymead, Caledonia County in 1810. His wife is Lydia Matthewson, the son is Jenckes Matthewson Putnam.

The listing is 000022-10201 way over on the right indicating this is a black family. He was in Franklin County in 1810. The sons would be Thomas, Jacob, and another son who married the Violet who is widowed here in 1830.
The listing is 011020 02100. This appears to be the same guy who was listed as Abel Putnam here in 1810. However now there are two guys in the 26-45 age range. One guess is that he is Abel Putnam’s (457), born in Charlestown, NH February 16, 1799. Possibly George is the son of Seth Putnam, and who was probably with his brother Seth (Jr.) in 1810. The listing is probably for Abel himself who was here in 1810. Abel’s son, John Whipple Putnam (1146) will be here through the 1850 census. In 1830 he will be listed as head of the household here in Lunenburg, Essex County indicating Able had died by that point. His mom is with him then.
The listing is 100010 00100. One of Thomas’ sons, grandson of Holyoke. He was born in Bethel, Vermont June 24, 1794 and will die in 1865. He was a farmer and served in the War of 1812. He married Elizabeth Gallup of Cambridge, Vermont on September 28, 1815. His oldest son Sabin has just been born. Sooner or later his children will be: Sabin, Mary, Calvin, Joseph, Curtis, Jane, Charles, Frank, Henry Harrison (everyone who served in the War of 1812 had a kid named Harrison).
The listing is 000102 01010. A son of the up-coming Thomas. In fact, the other older male is dad himself. Mom, Susanna Stone has headed off to meet her fore-bearers in the sky.
The listing is 210010 10020. Of course, he is another of Thomas and Susanna’s kids. Luther married first married Sally Batcheller January 10, 1811. She died and he has just married Rhoda Fullington here in Georgia (Vermont, not the Southern place) on May 7, 1820. The four kids shown here would be with Sally. The older gal might be his only sister, Lucretia.
Since he is not in the index as he is living with his son David, there is no listing except we know he’s here. Based on the report, he is over 45 and his wife Susanna Stone has died since 1810. He’s number 481 in Eben’s book, a son of Holyoke number 192, but you knew that if you read the earlier year’s census reports here in Vermont.
The listing is 100010 00100. He is the son of the above listed John. He is number 1954. He was born in Fairley May 22, 1793. He married Mary Puckett here.
The listing is 200010 00010. He is number 1952 and another son of John and Olive. Yes, John had sons named John and Jonathan. Jonathan was born in Fairley June 19, 1789. He married Mary Stockwell. He’s here again in 1830.

The listing is 000100 00101. He is number 1836, a son of Daniel and Sarah Putnam. He was born here July 28, 1896. Not certain of the older woman. Might be his mom, but it looks like she’s with his brother Dan. Maybe she hops around between the two making cookies and stuff for them.
The listing is 000020 01010. He is William Witt Putnam number 1206 and a son of Ezra Putnam and Rebecca Dike. He was born in Bethel, Windsor County on August 30, 1796. He married Philena Buck on April 3, 1819. The other male is probably his twin brother Simeon who is not married yet, but will be by 1824. William and Philena will be back in Bethel in 1830, and then in 1834 will move to Erie County, New York and in 1838 they’ll head to Union City, Erie County, Pennsylvania where he will die May 12, 1848. Philena will head to Iowa with her daughter Lucinda and die out there May 18, 1888.
The listing is 100010 10011. He is a son of the Reuben Putnam and Mahulda Cummings, and was here with them in 1810. His dad has headed of to New York State and will be in Genesee County now. Joseph just stuck around and kept the old farm. He married Irena Holdridge here December 2, 1813. They will be here through the 1850, Irena will be here widowed in 1860, as he will die here in 1857.

The listing is 000010 10010. He is Israel’s son. He is number 2139. He was born here in Vermont on December 21, 1790. He married Eliza Grow April 18, 1816 and they just have had their first daughter.
The Listing is 000201 00101. He is still around here, has been for a while. His first wife Lydia Martion has died and in 1816, he married Margaret Martin (probably her sister).
Listing is 411210 00021. He’s number 1238, a son of Caleb Putnam of Croyden, New Hampshire. Don’t get him confused with the Caleb in Middlesex. Caleb was born February 28, 1799. He married Susannah Hayward of Croyden and they headed to Vermont in 1803. They will be here a while.
This listing was taped over for some reason. He is number 766. He is a son of Jacob Putnam (283) and Susannah Harriman from Wilton, New Hampshire. He was born in Wilton, Hillsborough County on February 28, 1744. He will die here in Marshfield on November 17, 1826. He married Mirriam Hamblett of Wilton in the Spring of 1763, she will remain here until her death February 12, 1836. In 1830, his son Jacob will still be here as will his wife Miriam. From what Eben had in his book, Joseph decided to retire from active farming, and left his farm to his son Gideon. Joseph then moved with his son Jacob here to Marshfield in 1819. Joseph operated not only his farm, but a saw mill and a grist mill.
Listing is 120010 11020. He is Ebenezer’s son. He is number 1195. He and Lucy Lathrop have moved up from Bethel. He used to operate a sawmill there, but decided to head north and go into farming.
Listing is 120001 11101. Don’t know why he is listed as Jacob Jr. should be Sr., probably a typo of sorts in the old handwriting. He’s Ebenezer’s son. Been here forever.
Listing is 000001 03201. He is number 1098, a son of Ebenezer Putnam and Hannah Russell for whom he was named. He married Abigail Blaisdell April 17, 1803. He will soon (Feb 1821) finally get a son, Holden. This whole family will be off to Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois. Only his son Holden will be listed there in 1850. Russell will die here March 10, 1823. Abigail will hang in till July 21, 1880 and die at age 94.
Listing is 000121 10011. Seth has been here a while now. His first wife Dolly Holden has died in 1805, and the gal listed here is his second wife Katy Westcot.

The listing is 010010 10010. He’s been here a while and will be until he dies. He is Asa’s son, number 1724.
The listing is 000010 20100. This is Asa Putnam and his wife Rhoda Hildreth. Based on some Hildreth info, she will die here in 1827. I would guess Asa may have too, as I don’t find him in 1830. Our best guess is that Asa was a son of Thomas Putnam and Rachel Weatherbee from Charlestown, New Hampshire a few miles away across the Connecticut River border. They will have a son, Elbridge, in 1823. He was probably taken in by her folks who were from Vermont. He will appear in 1850, single in Dorset, Vermont. He will then marry and go to Cleveland. He is there in 1860 and will die there in 1866. His wife and kids will return to Deerfield, Mass. and be there in 1870.

With him are his brother Asher, number 1271 and another male who may have been his cousin Daniel, number 1261, and a female, possibly a sister. None of these folks were married yet. The listing is 011110 10200. This is a tricky one. I believe he is number 1733, a son of Josiah Putnam (721) and Sybil Smith of Warren, Massachusetts. If so, he was born there April 1, 1780 and will die here February 27, 1837. He married Nancy Shepard in Warren on June 4, 1818, and it looks like he headed straight on up here. His uncle Asa was in this neck of the woods since the 1770s. Now there are just too many kids here. His age is okay, Nancy’s also. But there is another gal in here in her mid 20s with her husband, who I would guess is Tarrant’s younger brother Henry (1738). Now both Henry and his wife Sophia Blair died in 1829 so that’s why they are not around in 1830. The next eldest male is Tarrant’s son Charles. Have no clues as to the youngest male. Now, come 1830, we will find Charles married and off on his own. Tarrant and Nancy will be here with their son, and some daughters. Obviously, Tarrant was married before, but Eben only lists Nancy. But to marry at age 38 was kinda strange in those days, and three of the children were born long before the 1818 wedding date. Of course, the 1818 date may not be correct. Just do not know.
