He is still single in 1920 and is a clerk with the telephone company and again says dad was New York, mom Louisiana. But he then said he was George P. Putnam JUNIOR. I do remember seeing the somewhat famous George Palmer Putnam in Buffalo where he was born and with his folks in 1870. So, looked at the New Jersey and by golly he was there, his wife Agnes Hall was indeed born in Louisiana and there was this little Georgie Junior at age 4. Think I should get a pat on the back for this one. Yeh. Anyway George’s grandfather James Osborne Putnam was postmaster in Buffalo then State Senator and lastly U. S. Ambassador to Belgium. He is a cousin of George Palmer Putnam who was the owner of George Palmer Putman Publishing Company still doing big business today.
