UTAH 1930 CENSUS

 

HENRY L. (LEE) PUTNAM  Helper, Carbon County

He is 34 UT CO UT and a mechanic for the steam railroad. Bessie Noakes his wife is 32 UT. They have been married about 6 years. They have Raymond 6 UT and Marjorie 3 4/12 UT. He is a son of William Lee Putman and his second wife Annie Gange. He was home in Salt Lake in 1920. William was a son of Jonathan J. Putman and Elizabeth Coulson born in Linn County, Missouri. They are here in 1940. Southern Putman family.

 

ARTIE PUTNAM  Bountiful, Davis County

Artimus Putnam is 27 UT UT UT and a farm laborer. He has been married 5 years to Thelma Alice Bull 24 UT and they now have Margaret 3 8/12 UT and Dolores 9/12 UT. He is a son of Edward Artimus Putnam and Mary Ann Moss. He was born here. Thelma was born January 28, 1906 and will die in Woods Cross, Utah on March 2, 1993. They were eventually divorced. The daughter Margaret Marie was born April 25, 1926 and will die February 17, 1940.

 

MARY C. PUTNAM  Bountiful, Davis County

Mary Moss is still widowed and is now 66 UT ENG IL. She is the widow of Edward Putnam (son of Simeon) from Maine. Been here forever. Her son Artie lives with her, but I gave him his own listing.

 

KARL R. PUTNAM  Cedar, Iron County

He is 34 MA MA ME and a garage foreman. Next guy listed, Charles Petty, owns a garage so he probably works there. Marion Stewart his wife is 34 MA and they have been married 10 years. They have a son R. Stewart Putnam 8 MA. He is the son of Clarence Sylvestor Putnam and Angie Duncan from Peabody, Mass. He was home with his mom in 1920. His folks had gotten divorced.

 

HUGH E. (ENOS) PUTNAM  Kanab, Kane County

He is 31 UT UT UT and a bookkeeper for the Forestry Service. Nellie Marie Bull, his wife of 5 years, is 25 UT and they have H. Raymond 3 11/12 UT and William E. 1 11/12 UT. He is a son of Edward Artimus Putnam and Mary Ann Moss from Davis County. He has been there up until now. They are in Coconino County Arizona in 1935 and 1940. He was born in Bountiful, Davis County Utah May 2, 1899. He married Nellie in Salt Lake City in the Mormon Church September 16, 1925. He will die January 24, 1974 in Los Lunas, Valencia County New Mexico.

 

EZRA PUTNAM  Woodruff, Rich County

Savannah Ezra Putnam is 48 UT MEX (ME) UT and is a stock farmer like all his kinfolk. Also pulled the Mexico thing I explained under his brother John. Betsy Jane Longhurst his wife of 20 years is 41 UT, Alta 19 UT, Elden 18 UT, Delores 16 UT, Bessie 14 UT, Keith 11 UT and Virginia 7 UT. Savannah is his dad Clarissa his mom. Been here ever since the family pulled out of Salt Lake. He’ll stay here all his life till he was 98 in 1980. He bought up all the lands of his family and more and had a huge cattle ranch. Ezra was born February 9, 1882 and will die here May 30, 1980. Betsey Jane was born April 23, 1887 and will die here April 3, 1975. The son Keith Longhurst Putnam was born in April 1920 and will die July 27, 2010.

 

JOHN M. (MELVIN) PUTNAM  Woodruff, Rich County

He is 42 UT MEX (ME) UT and is a stock farmer. Rosa Belle Hoggan his wife of 18 years is 42 UT. They have May G. 17 UT, Mildred R. 14 UT, Melvin K. (Kenneth) 11 UT, Mary 9 UT, Howard H. 6 UT, Loa a daughter 4 5/12 UT, Melrose H. a son 2 10/12 UT and Willis H. 6/12 UT. They will have one more daughter Clarine in 1932. They are here till about 1950 when they will move to Ontario, Oregon where both will die. He is a son of Savannah Clarke Putnam and Clarissa Cornia. Funny thing in this Census Listing, he states his dad was born in Mexico. This is true, but it was in Mexico, Oxford County, Maine. His brother Ezra did the same thing. Census taker obviously didn’t have a sense of humor. They were married in Salt Lake City April 10, 1912, and are here in 1930. John was born January 28, 1888 and will die on March 24, 1963. Rosa was born December 26, 1887 and will die October 4, 1964. The son Melvin was born here in 1918 and will die in 1933. The son Willis Hogan was born October 12, 1929 and will die shortly on January 30, 1931.

 

JOSEPH PUTNAM  Woodruff, Rich County

He is 47 UT ME DEN and is a stock farmer. Emily Gertrude Read, his wife of 17 years, is 47 UT. They were married in Salt Lake City November 27, 1912. They have Evan Joseph 16 UT, Rachel Marie 14 UT, Read Hemmert 11 UT and Heremiah Ruth 8 UT. He is a son of Savannah Clarke Putnam and Anne Marie Josephine Nielson. Joseph was born February 4, 1883 and will die here October 26, 1964. The son Evan was born November 11, 1913 and will die here April 10 1934. The son Read was one who did a great deal of genealogy work on this Mormon Family and published a book on the line in 1982. Interesting guy. I used to correspond and talk with him when I was first getting going on the New England Lines. He was still alive in 2003 living in Wyoming.

 

OLIVETTE PUTNAM  Holladay, Salt Lake County

She is Olivette Buttle the widow of Savannahs Clarke Putnam’s son Peter Cornia Putnam from Rich County. He died there March 17, 1923. She is living with her parents William and Mary Buttle. She is 42 UT, Grant B. 17 UT, Lucille 14 UT, Ardella 12 UT, Max 10 UT, and Olive 7 UT. She will be in Salt Lake City and raise the kids by herself. She was born March 26, 1887, and will be here till she dies in November 1967. Grant was born March 20, 1913 and will die here in Salt Lake City June 13, 1997. Max was born July 29, 1919 and will die here July 14, 1999. He will marry Louise Johannesen on April 15, 1946. She was a daughter of Theodore B. Johannesen and Anna Meyer. She was born in Salt Lake City January 30, 1921 and will die in nearby Holliday, Utah August 9, 2001. They will have a son Leland Kent who will marry Shauna Lee Benson here January 13, 1977. She was born May 23, 1956 and died May 4, 2005. Leland was still alive at the time.

 

CADY PUTMAN  Salt Lake, Salt Lake County

He is 51 NY NY NY (steam engineer in highway construction) and just married Myrtle Clark Taylor 52 UT UT Denmark on 21 June 1928. They have two lodgers, Dorothy M. Roberts 17 ID VA WY and Thomas F. Gracy 48 IL. Cady is a son of Abram Putman and Catherine Lothridge from Charlestown, Montgomery County New York in 1880 and in Amsterdam, Montgomery County by 1900 and 1910. New York Dutch. Cady was also in Salt Lake in 1920. He was born on 15 Jan 1875 in Charleston, Montgomery, NY and will die in New York City on 11 Feb 1940 and will be buried in Payson, Utah. Myrtle will be in Salt Lake in 1935 and 1940. She was born in 1883 in Payson and will die on 31 Aug 1974. She was previously married to Charles Baumann on July 20, 1904 and Charles B. Levett on December 27, 1910. You certainly can't say that Cady robbed the cradle!

 

CLARK PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is Savannah Clarke Putnam and is now 80 ME ME ME and is back with Anna Marie Nielson who is 69 DEN and their daughter Martha is 35 UT and still single.

 

CLARKE W. (WILLIAM) PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is 40 WY ME DEN. His wife Emily Pearl Love is 38 UT. She was bon February 1, 1891 and will die here in June 1977. They have Marjorie Marie 15 UT, Zella Pearl 13 UT, William Love 11 UT, Helen Mary 6 UT, David Clarke 4 6/12 UT, Arvilla 2 6/12 UT. They will also have Janice in 1931. They were married here in Salt Lake City June 3, 1914. He works for the street department. He is of course one of Savannah Putnam’s kids. His mom was Anna Marie Nielson. He was in ‘hiding’ in 1920. His wife Pearl was born February 1, 1891 and will die here in June 1977. The son David Clarke was born January 14, 1926 and will die January 29, 1998 here in Salt Lake City.

 

EDGAR R. (RICHARD) PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is now 35 UT ME UT. Hazel Fitt his wife is 39 UT ENG ENG. Her folks joined the Mormon Church in England and then came right over to Salt Lake City where Hazel was born. They have Marvin Edgar 12 UT, Ruth Hazel 11 UT, Gordon Lynn 10 UT, William Harvey 7 UT, Donna May 5 UT, Norma Dell 2 3/12 UT and Lois 1/12 UT. They will have Alina in 1932 and that’s it. Hazel will die in the mid 1950s and he’ll marry Rose Brown in 1955 and get divorced in 1958. In 1960 he marries a Naomi. He is and will work all through the 1930s with his brother Lawrence in his Dray Service (trucker). Edgar was born July 24, 1894 and will die here in Salt Lake City in May 1979.

 

LAWRENCE A. (ARTIMUS) PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is 50 UT ME UT and a hauler. Pearl Hillstead his second wife is 39 UT and they have Merlyn Lilliia 19 UT. She is with his first wife Exzelda Hickey who died in 1919. He married Pearl in June 1920. And then, of course, like every child in Utah, he is a son of Savannah Clarke Putnam, in this case with his wife Clarissa. From an obit, the daughter Merlyn married Al E. Schilling here October 24, 1933. They moved to Washington where Al ran several hotels in the Seattle and Belleview areas. She died there in 1978 and he in 1991.

 

RALPH A. (AMOS) PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is 29 UT ME DE and a salesman for a candy factory. He just got married 3 years ago to Florence Jessie Newman 22 UT and they have Ralph Dee 1 9/12 UT. Of course, a son of Savannah and his second wife Anne Marie. He’ll have the candy route for years and will later be a deputy on the Salt Lake Police Force doing undercover work on the side. Florence will die in 1965 and he will then marry Reva Olsen Anderson in September 1965. Ralph was born April 18, 1900 and will die here in Salt Lake City in March 1977. Reva was born June 7, 1903 and will die in Orem, Utah on April 21, 2002 at age 98. The son Ralph Dee was born July 9, 1928 and will die in Washington County Utah March 29, 1998. They will have another son Robert Lynn Putnam born August 22, 1930 and will die here August 31, 2005. He will marry Donna Linford here August 20, 1954.

 

WILLIAM J. (JOSEPH) PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is 63 IL. His wife Alvira Dilly is 60 NJ. He is a cigar maker. He’s not Cuban. He is the son of Alfred Putman and Emily Ashworth from Fulton County Illinois. He was at home there in 1880. He was in Jacksonville, Morgan County Illinois in the 1900. They were in Denver, Colorado in 1910 and 1920. They are back in Denver in 1940. Alvira is the daughter of Simon Dilly and Margaret Apgar and was born in Illinois July 1, 1868 and will die in Denver December 13, 1953. Southern Putman Family.

 

ORA PUTNAN  Lehi, Utah County

She is 31 UT and widowed. She has a daughter Beryl 5 UT and a son Glenn 1 6/12 UT. Ora Katherine Holmstead is now the widow of Savannah Clarke Putnam’s son Anton Wilson Putnam. They were married June 4, 1924 and he died in 1928. Ora will raise the kids by herself. She ran the chicken farm for a while and then taught school. She died in 1976.

 

ROLLO PUTNAM  Soldier Summit, Utah County

He is 20 ALASKA IA IA. Ruby Fern Ryan his second wife is 19 UT. He is a miner. Rollo Lincoln is a son of William Lee Putman and Lula Shaw. He was home in Salt Lake City in 1910 and 1920. His dad died and his mom is nearby with the three other kids. According to this entry he has just married Ruby December 20, 1929, but was married four years earlier to Lucille Hannah ‘Lucy’ Hopper on August 4, 1926. The Mary L. in nearby Thistle would be his and Lucy would be his first wife. And as far as I know he was born right here in Utah. Soldier Summit is right on the County boundary. He is in the Utah portion, his mom in the Wasatch part. Same area though. He will die in Monterey, California January 28, 1966. Southern Putmans Virginia to Kentucky out to the Wild West.

 

MARY L. (LUCILLE) PUTMAN  Thistle, Utah County

She is 2 5/12 UT UT UT and lasted as a stepdaughter of Frank Jones 26 UT and his wife, her mother, Lucy Jones 19 UT. Lucille Hannah ‘Lucy Hopper was the first wife of Rollo Putman here in the County.

 

LULA M. PUTMAN  Soldier Summit, Wasatch County

Lula May Shaw is 48 IA and now the widow of William Lee Putman who just died March 14, 1930. They have been in Salt Lake City up to now. At home are Juanita 21 UT, Sterling 15 UT and Eleanor 13 UT. Lula will die March 5, 1934 in Kaysville Utah.

 

EDWIN H. PUTNAM  Ogden, Weber County

He is 32 UT ME SWED and has been married 2 years to Dorthalu 28 UT UT UT. He is a sheet metal worker. He is a son of Andrew Jackson Putnam and Lena Peterson. He was born here April 30, 1897 and will die here in March 1976.

 

GLENN A. (ADOLPH) PUTNAM  Ogden, Weber County

He is 28 WY ME SWED and a money clerk for the railroad. Ruby Alice Neilson his wife of some 7 years is 29 UT and they have Glenn Robert 6 UT and Lucy Ann 4 6/12 UT. He is a son of Andrew Jackson Putnam and Lena Peterson. He was born when they were in Uinta County, Wyoming. Glen married Ruby in Brigham Utah December 20, 1922. The son Glenn Robert was born March 5, 1924 and will die in Salt Lake City on April 29, 2007. He will marry Dorothy Pike November 7, 1943 and they will later divorce. He was a career Army pilot from 1942 to 1984 and retired as a Lt. Colonel.

 

GUY H. (HORATIO) PUTNAM  Ogden, Weber County

He is 31 WY ME SWED and a furniture finisher. He has been married a couple of years to Vivian Donaldson 28 UT. He is a son of Andrew Jackson Putnam and Lena Peterson. He is Horatio Gates Putnam and was born when they were in Uinta County, Wyoming. Vivian is a daughter of Walter Donaldson and Sarah Miller. She was born December 21, 1901 and will die July 23, 1994.

 

JENNIE A. PUTMAN  Ogden, Weber County

Jennie Morrison is now 78 IL. She is the widow of Amos Putman from Wisconsin. They were here in 1900 and she has been widowed ever since. Her sister Adalaide Morrison is still here and is 66 IA and still single. She was born in Lake County Illinois March 8, 1853 and will die here in Ogden July 28, 1933.

 

LENA PUTNAM  Ogden, Weber County

Caroline Peterson is still around and is now 64 SWED and still widowed. At home still are Esther 29 WY and Lester 24 WY. The rest of the sons are all married now. Lester probably will be shortly.

Henry is still here and is now 44 UT (machinist for the steam railroad). His wife, Bessie Noakes is 43 UT and they have Raymond 16 UT, Marjorie 13 UT, and David 8 UT. They were living in Spring Glen, Utah in 1935.  He was born 10 May 1895 in Ogden, Utah and will die on 6 Jan 1980 in Salt Lake City. He married Bessie in Helper on 14 Jan 1922.  Bessie was born on 1 Dec 1896 in Springville, Utah and will die on 22 Feb 1971 in SLC. Henry is a son of William Lee Putman and his second wife Annie Gange. William was a son of Jonathan J. Putman and Elizabeth Coulson born in Linn County, Missouri. Southern Putman family.

 

STERLING (JONATHAN) PUTMAN  Helper, Carbon County

He is the half brother of the above Henry Lee and is 28 UT (machinist helper for the steam railroad). His wife Josephine Hansen is 25 UT and they have Eva Jane 4 UT, Joan Carol 2 UT, and Sterling 1 UT. They were here in 1935 and he was living at home in Soldier Summit, Utah in 1930 with his mother, Lulu Mary Shaw. Sterling was born 12 Jan 1915 in SLC and will die 11 May 1994 in Citrus Heights, California. Josephine was born 16 Aug 1915 in Spring Glen, Utah and will die 23 Aug 1999 in Orangevale, California. Southern Putman family.

 

ARTIE E. (EDWARD ARTIMUS) PUTNAM  Bountiful, Davis County

He is Edward Artimus Putnam Jr. the son of Edward Artimus Putnam and Mary Ann Moss. He is 37 UT (truck driver for the County) and has Thelma 34 UT, Dolores 10 UT, Bonnie 9 UT, and James 4 UT. He lived in the same house in 1935. He was here in 1930. He was born in Utah January 31, 1903 and will die in Modesto, Stanislaus County California March 20, 1973. By 1950 they are divorced. He is in California and Thelma still here with the kids. New England family.

 

JOSEPH PUTNAM  Bountiful, Davis County

He is Joseph Owen, the son of Edward Artimus Putnam and Mary Ann Moss. He is 42 UT (barber in his own shop) and his wife Breta H. Lee 35 UT, and Jack 14 UT, Dorothy 12 UT, Dale 11 UT, Wayne (Lee) 9 UT, and Marvin 8 UT. He lived in the same house in 1935. He was here with his widowed mom in 1920 but is missing in 1930. New England family.

 

ELDEN PUTNAM  Woodruff, Rich County

He is the son of Savannah Ezra and Betsy Jane Longhurst and was here with them in 1930. He is listed as Eldon 27 UT (works in a sanitation plant for the WPA) and has his wife Olive Delores Mills 25 WY, Marion (Colleen) 7 UT, Elden DeVerl 6 UT, Glenna (Dell) 5 UT, Sally Ann 3 UT, and Elda Mae 1 UT.  He lived in the same house in 1935.  He married Olive on 23 May 1932 in Coalville, Utah.  They will move to Evanston, Wyoming in 1942 and are both buried there. New England family.

 

EZRA PUTNAM  Woodruff, Rich County

Savannah Ezra Putnam is 58 UT (farmer) and is still here. Betsy Jane Longhurst his wife is 53 UT, and Virginia 17 UT. He’ll stay here all his life till he was 98 in 1980. He is 57 UT (farmer) and has his wife Emily Gertrude Read 57 UT, Read H. (Hemmert) 21 UT, and Erma R. (Heremia Ruth) 18 UT.  He lived in the same house in 1935. He married Emily Gertrude Read in Salt Lake City November 27, 1912. He is a son of Savannah Clarke Putnam and Anne Marie Josephine Nielson. KEITH PUTNAM  Woodruff, Rich County

He is 20 UT (farm hand) and is married to Erma Nichols 20 UT. Keith Longhurst is a son of Savannah Ezra Putnam and Betsy Jane Longhurst. He was born April 17,1920 and married Erma Nichols on 31 Dec 1936. She was born September 17, 1919. He was 16 and she was 17 years old. I guess there wasn’t much else to do in the middle of nowhere but get married. Keith died on 27 Jul 2010 in Woodruff. His obituary reads He loved ranching and had a great work ethic. He served as a county commissioner; he also served on the school board. He was a skilled carpenter. He also loved fishing and hunting. He served in the Army, where he was awarded several medals, including the Purple Heart, American Theater ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater ribbon, Philippine Liberation ribbon, Bronze Star, and a World War II Victory Medal. New England family.

 

MELVIN PUTNAM  Woodruff, Rich County

He is John Melvin 52 UT (farmer) and has been here all of his life. His wife is Rosa Belle Hoggan and she is 52 UT. They have Howard H. 16 UT, Loa 14 UT, Melrose H. 12 UT and Clarine 7 UT. They are here till about 1950 when they will move to Ontario, Oregon where both will die. He is a son of Savannah Clarke Putnam and Clarissa Cornia. OLIVETTE B. PUTNAM  Holladay, Salt Lake County

She is Olivette Buttle the widow of Savannah’s son Peter Cornia Putnam from Rich County. He died there March 17, 1923.  She is 55 UT (widow, baker), Grant B. 17 UT (works for the Pacific railroad), Ardella 23 UT (teacher), Max L. 20 UT, Olive 17 UT, daughter Lucille Hobbs 24 UT, son-in-law Leroy Hobbs, 28 CO, granddaughter Mary E. Hobbs 2 UT, and mother Mary Ann Buttle 76 UT (widow).  She will be in Salt Lake City and raise the kids by herself. She was born March 26, 1887, and will be here till she dies in November 1967. Grant was born March 20, 1913 and will die here in Salt Lake City June 13, 1997. Max was born July 29, 1919 and will die here July 14, 1999. He will marry Louise Johannesen on April 15, 1946. BEVERLY PUTMAN  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

She is 18 ID and is a sales lady in a bakery. I found a sheet. She is a daughter of William Wilford Putman and Clara June Charlesworth and was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho April 1, 1922 and will die here in Holiday, Salt Lake County. She will marry Roy Immanuel Rindfleisch in Farmington, Davis County Utah March 8, 1941. Her folks got divorced shortly after she was born. Her dad was in El Paso Texas in 1930 and out to California by 1940. Her mom Clara was from Idaho Falls and will come back and die in Salt Lake March 9, 1967.

 

CLARKE PUTMAN  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is Clarke William Putnam 50 WY. His wife Emily Pearl Love is 49 UT. He was born in Salt Springs, Wyoming October 13, 1889 and will die September 26, 1960. She was born February 1, 1891 and will die here in June 1977. They have Zella Pearl 23 UT, William Love 21 UT (clerk), Helen Mary 26 UT, David Clarke 14 UT, Arvilla 13 UT, and (Janice) Valois 8 UT. They were married here in Salt Lake City June 3, 1914. He is of course one of Savannah Putnam’s kids. His mom was Anna Marie Nielson. He was here in 1930. The son David Clarke was born January 14, 1926 and will die January 29, 1998 here in Salt Lake City. New England family.

 

EDGAR PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is now 45 UT (drives his own truck). Hazel Fitt his wife is 49 UT. Her folks joined the Mormon Church in England and then came right over to Salt Lake City where Hazel was born. They have Marvin Edgar 22 UT (roofer), Gordon Lynn 19 UT (grocery clerk), William Harvey 17 UT, Donna May 15 UT, Norma Dell 12 UT, Lois 10 UT and Alina is 8 UT. Hazel will die in the mid 1950s and he’ll marry Rose Brown August 18, 1955 and get divorced in 1958. On December 4, 1960 he marries Naomi Ann Fugate and divorces in 1972. Edgar was born July 24, 1894 and will die here in Salt Lake City on 7 May 1979. As an item of interest, one family group sheet on Ancestry.com has Rose Brown as the Rose E. Putnam that is the niece of James Openshaw in 1900 UT, Salt Lake City. We have not been able to identify her parents. Edgar is from the New England family.

 

GEORGE R. (REX) PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is a son of Frederick Frazell Putnam and Lena C. Cochran as shown in 1900 in Fargo, Cass County North Dakota. He was also in Seattle in 1930. He was born April 14, 1887 in Fargo, North Dakota and will later die about 1981 in Wilmington Delaware. Hannah was born April 25, 1887 in St. Paul and will die January 22, 1984 in Boise, Idaho. KARL R. (RAYMOND) PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is 44 MA (divorced, superintendent of automotive department of Utah Oil Company) and mother Angie C. 77 ME (widowed). They lived in the same place in 1935. He is the son of Clarence Sylvester Putnam and Angie Duncan from Peabody, Mass. Clarence died in April 1921. He was in Cedar City, Utah in 1930 and I’m not sure where Angie was in 1930. In 1930, Karl was married to Marion A. Stewart and had son R. Stewart. Maybe we will find them as the 1950 census comes up. New England family.

 

LAWRENCE A. (ARTIMUS) PUTNAM  Salt Lake, Salt Lake County

He is 64 UT and has his wife Pearl Cochran Hillstead 50 UT with him. They were here in 1930 and have been married since 1920. They were in the same house in 1935. He is a son of Savannah Putnam and Clarissa Cornia. New England Family.

 

MISHICH PUTMAN  Salt Lake, Salt Lake County

He is 43 UT (divorced, truck driver) and is living in a hotel. He was in Vancouver, BC in1935. I searched 1900-1930 for a male Putman/Putnam born in Utah between 1896 and 1899 without success. I also tried the WW1 draft cards. Think just a spelling/handwriting botch up.

 

MYRTLE PUTMAN  Salt Lake, Salt Lake County

She is 53 NY NY NY (widowed), daughter Mildred Gage 34 UT (divorced), and lodger Robert Creery 63 NY. She is Myrtle Clark Taylor, daughter of Adolphine Conradine Hansen and Herbert Taylor. She was later adopted by Adolphine’s newer husband, Wallis Leander Clark. Myrtle is living at home with Adolphine and Wallis in 1900, which shows Wallis married her mother in 1888. Myrtle was here in SLC with Cady Putman in 1930. Cady is New York Dutch. He was born on 15 Jan 1875 in Charleston, Montgomery County New York and just died in New York City on 11 Feb 1940 and was buried in Payson City Cemetery, Payson, Utah. She was born in 18 Jun 1886 in Payson and died on 31 Aug 1974 and is also buried with Cady. She was previously married to Charles Baumann on 20 Jul 1904 and Charles B. Levett on 27 Dec 1910. RALPH PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

Ralph Arnold Putnam is 39 UT and an advertising salesman. His wife is Florence Jessie Newman 32 UT and they have Ralph Dee 11 UT, Robert 9 UT, Steven 8 UT, Gerald 6 UT, and Paul 2 UT. They were here in 1930. He is a son of Savannah and his second wife Anne Marie. He’ll been in sales for years and will later be a deputy on the Salt Lake Police Force doing undercover work on the side. Florence was born August 4, 1907 and will die March 31, 1965 and he will then marry Reva Olsen Anderson in September 1965. Ralph was born April 18, 1900 and will die here in Salt Lake City in March 1977. Reva was born June 7, 1903 and will die in Orem, Utah on April 21, 2002 at age 98. The son Ralph Dee was born July 9, 1928 and will die in Washington County Utah March 29, 1998. The son Robert Lynn Putnam born August 22, 1930 and will die here August 31, 2005. He will marry Donna Linford here August 20, 1954. New England family.

 

SAVANNAH C. (CLARK) PUTNAM  Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County

He is Savannah Clarke Putnam and is now 88 ME and wife Anna Marie Nielson who is 99 DEN. He was here in 1930. He will die on 4 Jan 1941 and is buried in the Bountiful cemetery. Marie will died 9 Nov 1948 in Sterling, Idaho and is also buried in the Bountiful cemetery. New England family.

 

ROLLO PUTNAM  Park City, Summit County

He is 29 UT. Ruby Fern Ryan his wife is 29 UT. He is a miner. They have Betty A. 9 UT, Don R. 7 UT, Wayne R. 4 UT, Elaine R. 4 UT, and Boyd L. 2 UT. Rollo Lincoln is a son of William Lee Putman and Lula Shaw. He was home in Salt Lake City in 1910 and 1920 and right here in 1930. And as far as I know he was born right here in Utah. He married Ruby December 20, 1929 but was married four years earlier to Lucille Hannah ‘Lucy’ Hopper on August 4, 1926 and they divorced. Soldier Summit is right on the County boundary. He is in the Utah portion, his mom in the Wasatch part. Same area though. Rollo and Ruby will get divorced. In 1950 Ruby is here in Park City with the kids. Southern Putman family.

 

ORA K. (KATHERINE) PUTNAN  Lehi, Utah County

She is 41 UT (widowed) and living right next door to her parents. She was here in 1930 and 1935 as well. She has a daughter Beryl Aleda 14 UT and a son Glen Eldon 12 UT. Ora Katherine Holmstead is the widow of Savannah Clarke Putnam’s son Anton Wilson Putnam. They were married June 4, 1924 and he died in 1928. Ora will raise the kids by herself. She ran the chicken farm for a while and is now teaching in a public school. She was born February 22, 1899 in Lehi and will die on August 26 1976 in Salt Lake City. New England family.

 

ARDELLA PUTMAN  Santaquin, Utah County

She is 22 UT and is lodging with Henrietta Richen 34 Holland. She is a schoolteacher and is single. She is the daughter of Peter Cornia Putnam and Olivette Butte and is home in 1930 in Holladay, Utah. Ardella will marry Byron Thaddeus Pannell on 25 Aug 1943 in Boise, Idaho. She will die on March 3, 2000. New England family.

 

CHARLES C. (CLAUDE) PUTNUM  Ogden, Weber County

He is 30 CO and is a retail grocery proprietor. His wife, Wilhelmina Geraldina Meenderink is 26 Canada. They have Charles C. 2 UT and Judith W. 4/12 UT and were in Oakland, CA in 1935. He is a son of Claude Elmer Putnam and Mary Eugenia Maxwell. He was home in Los Angeles in 1930. Claude’s parents were Henry Putnam and Nancy Hackett. Unfortunately, Henry’s parents are unknown.

 

EDWIN G. (GUSTAV) PUTNAM  Ogden, Weber County

He is 42 UT. His wife is Stella Hunter 38 UT and they have Edwin Hunter 10/12 UT. He is explosive operator at an arsenal. He is a son of Andrew Jackson Putnam and Carolina Peterson. They were here in 1930. He was born in Woodruff on April 30, 1897 and will die here on March 22, 1976. He married Stella here on 17 Oct 1928. She was born on 18 Mar 1902 and will die here on 12 Feb 1983. Edwin was born here on May 27, 1939 and will die here on December 1, 1954. New England family.

 

GLEN A. (ADOLPH) PUTNAM  Ogden, Weber County

He is 38 WY and an express foreman for the railroad. His wife is Ruby Alice Neilson 39 UT and they have Glen Robert 16 UT, Lujean 14 UT, and Dale Nielson 9 UT. He is a son of Andrew Jackson Putnam and Carolina Peterson and was here in 1930. He was born 26 Apr 1901 in Lyman, Uinta County, Wyoming and will die here in 13 Jan 1993. Glen married Ruby in Brigham Utah December 20, 1922. The son Glenn Robert was born March 5, 1924 and will die in Salt Lake City on April 29, 2007. He will marry Dorothy Pike November 7, 1943 and they will later divorce. He was a career Army pilot from 1942 to 1984 and retired as a Lt. Colonel. New England family.

 

GUY H. (HORATIO) PUTNAM  Ogden, Weber County

He is 40 WY and a furniture finisher. His wife is Vivian Donaldson 38 UT. They have Maurine Kay 9 UT, Carol Gay 3 UT, mother-in-law Sarah Donaldson 75 Scotland, and niece Cara M. Wells 21 UT. They were here in 1930. He is a son of Andrew Jackson Putnam and Lena Peterson. He is Horatio Gates Putnam and was born 28 Jun 1898 Lyman, Uinta County, Wyoming and will die here in 17 Aug 1973. Vivian is a daughter of Walter Donaldson and Sarah Miller. She was born December 21, 1901 and will die July 23, 1994. New England family.

LESTER R. (ROOSEVELT) PUTNAM  Ogden, Weber County

He is 34 WY (machinist helper in a railroad repair shop) and is married to Kathryn Nelson 25 UT. They have Calvin Dee 4 UT. They were married here on January 3, 1935. He is the son of Andrew Jackson Putnam and Caroline Peterson and was home with her here in 1930. Lester was born February 1, 1906 in Lyman, WY and will die here on November 14, 1968. Kathryn was born here on April 5, 1915 and will die on November 19, 2007. They will have at least two more children, namely Boyd L. and Suzan Katherine. New England family.
